Gold coins.

Found these 3 gold coins in the loft the other day what were in a box what was left at my nans house after she died, there from 1887 and i googled them and there worth about 350 quid each. I dont know if there real or not tho does anyone know much about this kind of thing?

Sounds like sovreigns certain dates are worth more than others but all worth a few quid

A dealer will give you about £220 each. Put them in auction, they are probably worth more in scrap.

If you don't need the money you may as well save them as they are likely to increase in value better than any investment you can get at the moment.

I must disagree quizard - there are plenty of better investments out there that will give you a better ROI than gold. Just do your homework. There is more investments in life than ISAS and stocks.

spot price has gone up 10% in the last 30 days, i'd hold on to them.

in hindsight ppi was a bloody good investment.

....when you consider that the cheating bastard banks have to pay it all back plus the same interest as they charged on the loans and 8% statutory interest on top.

My nan left an 1892 soveriegn amongst other stuff. I got it put into a ring and kept it.

I bought loads of gold jewellery when I was young. About the only thing I still have left to show from my first couple years on fruits. It has tripled in value my collection and is worth a few grand now.

yes lugs , but i leave it indoors now , along with my bracelet ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, gold has shot through the roof of late ,,,,,,,,,,,,, this coupled with the recession and the scummy pubs i frequent ,,,,,,,,,,, it's not very sensible really.

tracy's camera knackered , (need to go pc world for another tomoz)

and my orig ps3 (60 gig with memory card reader slots) finally gave up the ghost a fe months ago ,,,,,,,,,,,, the new slimline one i replaced with it ,,doesnt have card readers .

so can i take a pic with my crappy 15quid phone and send it to you , ? and you post it ?
