Living In Former Glory

I'd like to harp on about what I'd discovered in the past, since it seems to be a trend on here now.
I didn't work out Hall of Fame, compared to the great Matteo (and yes, I HAVE met him so I think I'm entitled to mention him) and was rather crap at it (and still am but make enough off a nice hidden one for now). In fact, I once filled one up in a bowling alley for him to empty because I was feeling generous. Informed his 'bitch' (David) that it was full and I'd done my nuts in it (it was just in that mode where I just didn't have a clue) and to him to tell him to go back to it and help himself. He seemed to be nice enough, a good lad, unfortunately though, it seems David's cheek and blatant rudeness is rubbing off on him now and he's giving out attitude when really not necessary. Don't be a sheep, Matt... especially with David as your shepherd - that's my advice...
Anyway, I was pretty much on my lonesome back in the day regarding Battle Axe/Revolution/Ultimo. Everyone said Ultimo was impossible to empty - rubbish! I had the one in the arcade in Earl's Court giving 6 steps on selector when there was no buzz in the thing. They literally would go mental. There were a few in the services and 1 in a pub in Queensway, 1 in Ruislip and 1 in Chiswick. It was quite a rare machine. They never chipped it to kill you on a step, don't know why that was.
Then we come to win stopper/What's In Your Box. I was playing them alone after the chip, no one said a word to me about taking them all the way again and I was taking more and more, gaining confidence. Suddenly there were a few of us comparing notes and we all just started emptying. A certain person did not believe me about them being empty-able and sent me a detailed text message as to WHY it was completely unthinkably impossible to do so - and that was about P1, he also dismissed my attempts to show him how to do P2s... tut tut...
HOWEVER! From that point, from the point of being able to sit in a pub for hours and empty them all day, not run around doing loads of hits (ie 2, 3, 4 machines a day to empty, not much travel required) I feel we became lazy and spoilt! You could literally lounge about eating in a Moons and not worry because you only had to put a few quid in and yes, sometimes they'd screw you around but basically it was plain sailing.
At times I was spotted by the odd player who'd be running around doing his bits and bobs and it looked to them like I had become a DOND addict! Little did they know...
Many people claim they were on these early, they really weren't... you don't drive around every service station finding them full when they're being done! I've heard many a claim of "I was doing that one for months" then thought to myself "Oh, they must have been refilling it every hour then!"
OK I was shit on P3 but by then there were hardly any left anyway.
I also discovered how to do skill roulettes with a bit of help and note comparing from a certain secret contact.
I was better than anyone on Vamp It Ups and anyone who argues with that point obviously never saw me play one.
I discovered number sequences on Global Draw Roulette too.
I also discovered WHY you could empty Fruitopia, it was all down to the programming of the game on £15 and porting it over to £25. Again, anyone who argues is a fool, that is a FACT (we miss you, Rafa)!
Ask Jason if it was me who used to look in the window for what box was on the DOND's he will confirm that is the case. Unless he wants to continue lying about me.
Going REALLY far back, I was the best at hitting Shoot Em Up on Arcadia and played a big part in the discovery of the actual empty, despite what anyone else may say. Top professionals were going around hitting ridiculous amounts like 5ers thinking they were good, someone brought it to my attention that you could hold the cancel down, I practiced non stop on a £5 version in a service station on the M20 until I perfected my skills on it. Unlike some less tolerant players, I never did my nuts in one and always emptied them while they left them full up in service stations on the M4!
Now much of this stuff must sound familiar to you all and my claims that I worked stuff out may sound far fetched... maybe I wasn't as quick to discover some of this stuff before others did, but I worked them out as I've said, without help.
That's why I don't feel its that important to be on the phone 24/7 trading info anymore.
I was also very good on the Extremes, especially the £35 jackpot version.
If I am now waffling, I apologise, but that is the same as harping on - which is what I said I'd do. All rather pointless but at least I'm not causing trouble and bringing back memories.
Oh, I was rather good on Hammer Horrors too.
Would anyone else like to contribute what they feel they have worked out in the past?
