How do you get on in your local? Is the landlord fine with you playing the machine or do you just not play in there? Used to be on top for me when i lived in Bury but all good down here in ipswich!

My local landlord is sound, i remember he went a bit funny with me years ago after i streaked a Frenzy for £60, and he told me i was'nt welcome, but the last 5 years or so he's been fine, and he often rings me for coins when he's short.

I was in my local in Norwich the other day and after he replied no to my question of do you need any pound coins he also mumbled rather quietly "don't come back" I only just heard him
But could of quite easily not of heard.

Does this count as a barring? Or should I try my luck getting back in?

Go back in, and see how he reacts. Sometimes, you're sixth sense kicks in. Its handy sometimes if the machines not due & he sees you lose a few quid, and for gods sake, don't buy a J2O or half a coke. A lot of landlords don't want confrontation. Most my barrings have come when the landlord is bullish through his alcohol consumption.

Jeff is definitely right, a lot don't want confrontation.

My local was ok, had a casino crazy, indy hilo, alien and then the management changed. Went in one day with the mrs for a few drinks, stuck £30 or so behind the bar and then for a laugh played the flicker. Made £2 on it and the guy was screwing. Some people are just idiots.
Bored of the grind.

My local 'Spoons is fine when they see me getting lucky with a COB. My local independent arcade are fantastic. The staff cheer you on when you win a JP. When we go 2-way or even 3-way on a machine, the staff have a good laugh with us too. 'Tis a busy arcade, so the atmosphere is usually pretty decent. We have 2 Silvers as well. Friendly professional staff but the staff turnover is too high and so you don't get to know anyone for long. Shame really because I've had some good AWP banter with a few of them.
