I've seen a deal that has an actual gamestec badge on it, the video screen one called Platinum, are they a machine maker now, or is this a one off?

you need to spin a credit off on each stake to see the pots, or else it will say they are all the same. still work fine though. Same as red mists

The unit I have local have canny sound effects. Press on a game and it blows me away.

I think the megas are running on a diff programme to the normal ones. They start you on a board with a 1 so you can just gamble the multi add. Never had a normal mega do that.
