Watch out in spoons

One of my best mates brother is a duty manager for all the wetherspoons in the south. As you all know with the recent tooling and robbing of all the fruits + empties and playing methods spoons have become quite fire.

I'm just pre warning people to take a bit more time, buy drinks and maybe some food now because they are begining to ban all the local faces, I.E all the pro gamblers from all their wetherspoons... Pictures are being put up in back offices/rooms and all wetherspoons have been notified nationally to ban any player who comes in... First time they've bothered doing this. I thought I would just warn people so they don't get barred.

wetherspoons are meant to encourage people to play the machines,
i know people who have written letters and made phone calls and got barrings lifted!
if your caught doing something wrong then hairymuff but i cant see barrings for no reason.

Spoons will not bar you unless you are tooling. My local spoons manager knows what I do and don't give a shit, but he did ask me about a bankers bonus in another spoons his wife runs, he said it run out of money again and I just smiled at him and said I know nothing my friend and he smiled back.

That use to the case. All my wetherspoons I go to know me and what I do, they never used to have a problem whatsover as I was playing straight.... But what I'm saying is a headsup on what's going to happen nationally... If you think that things are going to be sweet and that they encourage professionals in to play their machines and you get barred then don't say I didn't warm you..

I'm literally giving everyone a 2-4 week notice before this barring kicks in. Believe it or not, alot of our faces are already being monitored and pictures have gone up. /quote. .... Also I've been told that they are creating a database which stores all our pictures of us, which is put on a wetherspoons website which the duty manager has to keep an eye on and update with recent barrings... Sort of like pubwatch but only with spoons...

seems a bit ridiculous, if they are barring pro's...... surely if you get barred and not arrested then you are a player as you have done nothing wrong except 'win'!!

If you are tooling you should be getting arrested and barred

Well this is clearly an attempt to stop all possible robbing etc of theirs machines. They can't distinguish between toolers and players, all they see is you 'win' and take money out of the machine.

This is the main reason why all the barrings and places are fire because toolers are in and out with the money whilst players spend longer in the pubs and get more noticed.

Why do you get barred from other pubs when you batter their fruits for weeks?? Your not doing anything wrong yet you get barred.. Is it against the law getting barred??... No it's not, landlord rules are the only thing that counts. If wetherspoons want to start barring people, toolers and players, then they are strictly allowed. Especially, when they are all dumb fucks who can't distinguish between players and toolers.

All I was saying was, don't go in and buy a small coke or orange squash. Buy a pint of shit lager and just leave it behind a menu or something. Wetherspoons are getting fire so you need to be extra careful now.

Don't they have a security department FFS. I know all the staff appear to be just out of school or a twenty something "manager", but surely there is some awareness about monies in the training programme. Why not reposition the machines in sight of the bar if that is too taxing ?

Call me cynical, but I can sense an agenda here. Or maybe not.

I always buy a drink in Wetherspoons, but as we all know such a transaction can take up to 30 minutes of being stood at the bar without being acknowledged, I find it hard to believe that on a busy night the staff are to be pre-occupied with the fruit machines, as opposed to caring for an ever expanding customer base.

Not that I am calling you a liar, my friend.

Tis true that 'Spoons have been hit particularly hard over recent months, with people exposing the negligence of BFM's software department, in addition to thieves going in through the side of their cabinets with a net. But I can't help but think that they could remedy this situation simply by not floating every day.

We call them Noah's where I live, because you have to order two by two, because the service is so bloody slow.

The mangers have whats called 'flashpoint training' to help them deal with all types of pub situations such as fights etc and includes some fruit machine situations. E.G, someone on machine, comes to bar to get drink, someone else jumps on. They are trained to be aware of that in case it leads to things kicking off - but they have no training in terms of pro players playing machines.

It helps when your good mates with the spoons managers. :) They are not allowed to drink in any spoons pubs, but its only the pub they work at that they cant play machines in. So often we'll go across to the other two spoons to play the machines lol.
