In 2009 so old news really. But thinking that £100m is little excessive?

They emptied 400,000 of his machines? Lol don't think so!

Bastard machine scrambler looters :-P

Probably about rite with Engineers/Technicians cuts,What he probably ment was takings was down to previous years and the answer is Yes they are people cant afford to throw money away at the moment especially on the 70s with no game play and cost of boards.Anyone using this sparking device,if caught is looking at 6 month, which is the set amount of time for theft, something to do with a bus driver in the 60s/70s scamming bus tickets and the sentence is still the same to date....

This kind of idle speculation is the reason why it's so ontop.

More like they had an empty on it-scramble the signal, never heard such bollocks!

I didn't read the article, but surely a small(ish) op like his, turnover would only be a few hundred K max?

Just sloppy journalism obviously the m should be a k. The pic is of a Gamesnet 5 not an AWP. It strikes me as they just caught some chavs messing about some sort of device and the big scam story was probably invented it embellish it. When this story was published they would have still been smarting over all the money that WAS lost in the C4 fiasco which was their own fault.

Still amazes me how "landlords" and "pub managers" know so little about how AWP/SWP's work. So if munter A feeds £400 in notes into a machine, gets £250 back, collects and leaves the hopper entry. Munter two puts his change into the machine and gets, say £20 it's going to IOU. Has it been scammed ?

Make you wonder what happens when they get an empty barrel !!

It makes me laugh how lots of pubs had thoses banners and posters saying how you could win £210 with a jackpot and 2 repeats, some even had beer mats stressing it!!

Yet those same landlords ban u when u get a quick £70!!!

I remember pointing this out to a totally misinformed prick a while back to be told that they he's never seen a jackpot and I must be defrauding it. I directed his attention to the big poster, he still told me to leave!!

I then tried to order a pitcher of fosters at a discounted rate shown on another advert. He agreed as long as I didn't play the machines. Upon receiving it, I said despite all his advertisements, I'd never seen such an offer and didn't believe it go be true and walked out without paying, much to the amusement of one or 2 blokes at the bar who'd heard the saga unfold!!!

This type of article is for "fresh" Internet content. It enables companies to link and backlink "trusted" websites. Ultimately it's a way of ranking higher on the google algorithm.

Maybe we could write content on john32 or alien programs. Would be worth a fortune.

I remember when this scam was fresh, I also saw it done.... You could either dump £50/ £100 or the whole hopper. It was back when 35s where out not 70s. And considering it didn't take long to do and also worked through the notey, of course the toolers made a fortune...

I've only ever seen a few fruits on bob rudd leisure or whatever so not too sure how big they are but I'm sure gamestec, leisure link etc lost a fortune....

The problem was too, was after it was done and left egg, the note changer still accepted notes and the machine thought it was still full so coins would drop.... So the machines would still take money down the bottom but would never naturally refill... Hence alot of IOUs on high low silvers/indies when 'us' players take the streak out of them.. Was a very frustrating time with all the banking, which inevitably lead to alot of barring during the reccession....

They've got £2 million of assets, so not that small. Turnover figures are absent from reports, though.

Doesn't scramble airwaves. It's the notey not the cabinet that was problem. The airvent dump was slotto back pin. I think they ahem have there wires crossed

Not condoning fraud at all but if you site machines isn't this the risk you take?

I think most people think the fruit sits in the corner taking money without hassle - this level 1 thinking gets people nowhere!
