Other peoples luck

Is anyone ever astounded by the luck that other non-players seem to get? Some of the stuff u see other people get away with is amazing! Case in point yesterday.

Was in a pub on the razzle and having a crack with the regulars on the dart board. Was trying a few quid in the let's play dond. Bout a score in I get a phone board and it's basically a £40 board. Managed to get £70 that board. I'm sure most of u know how. In remaining credits I get hold and drop cherries but with numbers to take me to extra life, so it once again has no option but to give a dond game from the stopper, amazed I play the board out and it's clearly a dead board despite being a phone game as the cash despite 2 boosts is blocked at £2. Land on ? And take dond. To my amazement it's the £70 box. Nice big raise. Very fortunate but I deserve it after getting mugged off on a mega earlier in the day.

But u know ur leaving it in such a fucked state that only a cycled gatw could bring anyone a raise right?????

WRONG!!!!!

2 randoms come in, start going halves. Clearly not players, barely got any money between them. I'm thinking it's gotta be at least £150+ for a middle game even from COB which unless ur me other people seem to get a lot.

But no!!! One of the lads runs out of money after putting about a fiver in, the other has a scrawny £5 note which he can't get in so asks for change. Somehow he gets dond off cob and lo and behold I see it's the same £70 box again!!! Incredible!!!

But he's not finished there!!

Clearly over the moon with his fortune he goes on to the tioli. I'd done it the day before for about a £30 raise. He's clearly getting annoyed when he's about £20 in. A few quid more in and he gets phones open. No quiggle for mega obviously but he takes the game. £70 in box!!!! That's something you just don't see!!! EVER!!!

Earlier on in the day I was waiting for a coin. While ordering a pint a pensioner decides he's gonna have a punt. It's numbers. Can't be anymore than about £5 in and red 5 first spin. He doesn't know what he's doing obviously and stops it randomly on nudges I think. Anyway, the board lasts for ever it's an 'in' board for a player big gems and he lands on treasure hunt, obviously doesn't know what this is and ends up getting killed. The next board he lands red cruncher. Easy set up but he doesn't take it and gets bumped off but this time with about an £11 safe win. He throws that back in and leaves it with nothing.

So on I go, u'd think it wouldn't be far away but as usual it's about £55 in for TH!!! A raise yes but annoying knowing I could have had it first board!!

This is a common theme for me, the stuff I see others get away with or get lucky on is incredible!!!

Surely others have been there, where ur waiting on something, only for them to cycle about £5 for hours on fruits where most boards should be costing at least that a time!!!

You have to laugh!!

Yeah I know exactly what your saying mate. It's either they spend ages on the only fruit in the pub you want to play in which they are on for ages or they get extremely lucky on a non playable piece of wank shit ever... Either way it's fucking annoying but part of the game...

I always want to leave the pub and come back in a few hours but knowing my luck as soon as I leave the cunt will be off it so I normally stay and just grind out the long and tedious wait for his 5-20 pound loss...

Saying that, 4 70s in a row is un heard of...

That's just ridiculous. As in 'totally unheard of' or 'not-even-Matt-Vinyl' style ridiculous.

Sunday I went in a pub for a Darts. 3 regulars at the bar talking. I order my drink and the elderly bloke of the 3 starts saying "think I will have a gamble". 3 machines in the pub but of course he goes towards the Darts. The other 2 blokes sort of look at me smugly. I paid for my drink and look over and he's not on it yet but standing beside it digging in his wallet. So I took a few large strides over towards the Darts and started playing it. I chucked about a fiver in before he got his money out and noticed I was playing it. Heard him mumbling complaints and he went over to the DOND nearby and did his business!

Point is, I bet he would have got something good if he played the Darts. In fact he would have done, as my second board offered a £12 cashpot without much gambling on the cash side. Plus it was 9.30 PM on a Sunday so it was closing within an hour. Only cost me £22 for McQuggins so I'm glad I didn't give him the opportunity to make me wait!

So true.

Fruit machines are so technical these days that they will scan your fingerprints, as soon as the machine knows who its dealing with it will charge you accordingly for a board, i once paid £43 for board after it scanned my prints, try pressing the buttons with your elbows, or wear gloves  :)

I've thought the same thing, it's as if the machine knows who you are.

I remember talking to the MD of a software company on some business matter, and he mentioned that was in negotiations with the industry to license his player recognition system (this was a good 4 years ago).

It would be very easy to generate a playing profile that fits dedicated players, and program to suck more brutally until the next attract mode, for example. Most players play a machine very fast compared to the casual player, hold start down until something spins in etc. etc.

Ever since that conversation I've varied how I play machines. Probably a waste of time, but it's one more angle covered !

You never know i suppose, i've heard talk of games vanishing on quizzers when too much is won, we've also got the critical alarms on the likes of Oche and Rob Da bank etc, perhaps this could be the next step...One day.

Cameras in them now. Well some of them anyway...

At least we will all get rich with a lawsuit against machine companies when they get players photos and circulate them illegally!

I'm glad there's not just me that suffers from this. Coz I'm usually unlucky!
