Especially for JG as I know he loves a 'my day' special!!
So yesterday I decide to hop on a train to London as my car is in for it's MOT.
Arrive at Liverpool St station at about 11.30. Quickly check the spoons, nit a lot going on here. Check the alien in the station £8 in and no board. One more nugget and boom it boards. Get it out first board after the required throughput, so just over a score up. Don't even bother checking for another board. Next to it is a big reds, I don't mind these and to my surprise it's phoning. Costs about £50 to offer required feature. The £20 light is out but thankfully the £40 is ok. Got £60 something. Check for another board which blocks phones but busts a fiver. One more set-up for phones and this time we are in again, straight to the bonus. The BFK special is on. Prise in 3 more phones for a flat £70. Nice start to the day.
Onto a pub round corner, darts and chipped lep. Darts is there on 50p. Usual tripe £60ish in for £70. Lep not boarding. First pint of the day goes down well.
Next pub has a perfect in, good cashpots but some is on it. Another pint and I settle down to watch a suit row about £30 thru it for fuck all. £10 in and it's red woody. CP is on £70. Couple of shitty boxes and then after about £40 in it offers it. Next board is a very ready one on £1 stake as the CP is on £62. Manage to eliminate pretty much everything except red £35 £70 and CP. Unfortunately it's not CP so settle for the £70 and leave it. Let's have no remarks about this please. A nice raise again, things are looking good.
Nothing much else happening so hop on a tube and get off at a random stop
First pub has a mega, once again a suit is rowing it. The CP is on £70 on 50p. It's phone ready, I see him get £35 in his box. He sticks about a tenner back and then walks. I check the others, 25p is on about £30 and £1 is on about £50. I consider that good enough and get stuck in. Bout £60 in for phones. After about a ton in it offers CP, switch to a £1 which is now close to £70 anyway, who doesn't stake switch in between boards eh? Pretty much takes the whole lot back before naturally putting CP my box. I only had shitty boxes the whole time so I'm guessing back on 50p it'll be close to shooting MS, but it offers red SS straight away which goes for nearly £50. A small but grateful raise and another couple of beers. The PLOD on the quiz hadn't been done either. Easy tenner.
Few more pubs yield nothing of any note to play. On the tube again and off at another stop. No idea where tho!!
Wander about before heading down some side road a look through the window yields an alien. In I go. Very empty pub, some hard looking bloke behind the bar. I shuffle to the bar without trying to jingle!!! Pint of lager is soon downed at the bar go try and ease heat. A quick double vodka and coke just to make sure. He is then relieved of his duty by some young cutie. I check the alien and it's boarding and stepping. Another beer from the sweetie who is not at all watching what I'm doing. Few boards in I have a chance to corner it old school, hint 5 with step, I go for it bonus 11 for change number for a quick £60 raise, but oh no it's on auto payout!!! I try and hide the clunk of coins but it's impossible, a sly glance around and the bird is texting on her phone. Looks like I got away with it!!! Another vodka and coke to ease my guilt, obviously it's still boarding. £40 in for another, this time I see her in the relection look up, but then it's straight back to her phone. Still boarding. She asked me if I'm winning and tells me it never pays out. I tell her I play on the £ ago and just try and get jackpots or mega st, she really doesn't give a fuck, I order another pint, when she brings it over it's trapped, I tell her I'm £80 in so lucky to nearly get my money back. She laughs and asks if I want to change them up. If carlsberg made barmaids..........
I wander past some skanky looking arcade after another tube stop. It's got an electro in which is no.s but only 30 and 50 stakes. Red NR off about £25 in, nice raise I think but then realise it's on £35!!!
The battle axe next go it takes about £13 for a board but 4 steps and a lucky 7 see to a loco pot!!! Waste a few quid in random shit before finding a spoons with a mega in it. £70 on a £1 and £40ish on 50p. Fuck it another pint and pull up a chair. Whoops it's over a ton for a phone board but I've still got get out options. I stick with it on 50p. A horrible £8 repeats to Jack Bauer early on, it phones again soon leaving CP or £20 on both, don't u hate it when that happens!! Fuck it's £20. Soon has that back and more, now £150 deep. 20 mins later I'm nearly £200 deep. Boom, CP offer. Thank fuck. On to a £1 ago first board £70 box. Ouch, I thought it might have been, should have bailed earlier but fuck it, was doin my head in. Bout £70 down but it's my first bad hit of the day. While I'm on the mega a random rower has been on a bank job. He left it with fuck all but I reckon he done a few bob, it's full so I order another pint and fire in a load of nuggets. First few boards look shit but I'm here now. Try and lose a quick bullseye thru it as quickly as possible but those fucking free spins!!!! £100 in for red top which goes for £140. Half back from the mega I suppose.
Another tube stop a few away, nothing doing. Wander in to a corals out of boredom, few mess about £5 greyhound bets when a set of rainbow pots catch my eye. I decide I'll chuck £25 on red. If it wins I'll play it if it loses I'm off. It wins. Gold is on £500 silver £220ish and bronze on £78. Straight on mega spins so I can't pie my way into trouble to early. £50 goes in an instant. A set of wells being the highlight, to annoy the staff later I chuck £50 in coins in. Down to last set of spins and it throws in 4 men. Think it went for £125 but may have been a ton, damn wish I had the pie option now!!! Decide to play off my profit and then leave. Another 3 men give £60. Have about £170 in bank now from £75 in. £5 on red hits so I'm a nice ton up. Most of which goes on bets for the champs league final. If I'm gonna be watching it I wanna have an interest!!!
Check some more pubs but not much goin on. I'm that desperate for a pint, I go in for a TIOLI. amazingly it shoots £70 first shot on my second board. I assume/hope it's the **** one, the MS goes for £70 But I've no real way of telling as I was barely anything in. Still, a nice raise.
Find another pub with a deadmans in, ready on both. £60 in for NR on 50. £25 in on a £ for TH, realising I'm on about my 8th pint and a few dub vodkas it's not gonna be easy, that semi fast one is the most difficult in my state, thankfully bang on centre which gives me a bit of leeway on the finale!!! Somehow it it!!! But what's this? Fucking hopper jam with bank at about £60. Usual crap, I'll have to go back for it another time.
I'm hungry, I head back towards liv st but go on a few stops beyond it so I can work my way back. I wander into a pub and order some tuck. Dond brt is on £70 on 50p, I figure I'll take it on while I wait for my food. Bout £20 in and it gives stepper, so I'm happy with a quick score raise. Food was shit but it filled a gap.
Find a chipped grid which is boarding but costs about £60, still boards after and the next costs about £50. Small raise but happy enough. The nice man changes some coins up for me and my train fayre and starting pot is now in notes in my wallet. A quick jingle and a guess of about a ton profit plus the football bets and I still have that IOU.
I'd find out just how many coins I had in the next pub. A darts is there on both. Why bother playing these? They're shit unless u get icons which I don't. £90 in on 50p for Barry. In my drunken state I hit £30. Thankfully £20 back and it offers it again. No mistake this time. £1 stake is just as bad. Leave it a tenner up. Thank god I was pissed or I'd have been evens!!! Boring terrible machines.
I'm now pretty much trashed, I stagger to one more pub before I decide to call it a day. I fancy a glass of red to finish the day off. It's got a murphys millions in. I'd already decided I was gonna get stuck in as it's my last of the day. A nice glass of red it was, so I ordered another as I slow played it out. Using the patented BFK rip, I get it off about £50 just as it's about £20 happy.
I head to liv st and I've got about 30 mins to the train. I give that BJ/CJ clone a board and it offers MS. So I pull up a chair and row away using the BFK let's avoid wins for a bullseye method. £140 in I've still not been offered it. £160 in and it caves in but goes flat. Fuck it. I decide over a glass of red, to re wrap the bugger. £60 back and it goes for the £140. A small loss but what a relief!!!
I've missed my train, can barely stand up, I've played only a handful of safe machines but I'm still well ahead.
A nice large pizza and bottle of White sends me off to sleep rather nicely. Not surprisingly I wake up with a hangover. Car failed the MOT!!!
