So after about 5 hours play, I'm up a ton, down a ton, back to evens and then about £50 down. No bother but then a 3 way blind off occurs........

Bout £90 in the pot, I open up first Ace 2 3 suited, sweet I think as the other 2 players sling a few more blinds in. One then the other opens and one stacks.

Cut a long story short I empty my wallet of £760 more before seeing the guy with my last remaining bet. I say 'you'll need 3 of a kind to beat me and he gladly turns over 3 9's.

Sick of sickness.

First harsh lesson in life. Played cards all my life, brought up playing mainly whist. As an 18 year old , got into brag down the pub and was soon winning all the time. Played pontoon or three card brag with mates for the crack. Got into a game with three matesband an irish labourer who thought he was the dogs bollocks, Three big hands and I had taken over £100 quid off of him and he was steaming mad. The game broke up and I got the drinks in. Half an hour later he suggests restarting with four players in. OK, I say. Sit down, get three kings first hand. Everyone bets three or four rounds, pot gets huge, £500 or more. Matey1 folds a straight, another player folds a flush. Me and paddy play until I've put everything in, borrowed money and there's now about £1500 in the pot, we turn over and he has three aces. Gutted to say the least. Go home pissed and see the others laughing and joking in car park sharing out the spoils. Couldn't do a lot, I was 5' 6" and ten stone, they were built like brick shithouses.

Cunt had heart attack a few years later.

Mate that is sick, it's not as if you could bin the cards.

I once see 2 of my mates go head to head, one had 3 aces the other three 3s. I don't know how much went in, but 1 of them was sick. After that we put a cap on how much we could put in.

What a classic.

Reminds me of a so called mate of mine, we was playing cards round his house and he just could not lose. He was wearing a big old dressing gown. After 2-3 of playing 2 card fell out of his sleve. I never played cards with him again after that.

I don't play cards for serious money with mates because it just all ends in fighting and falling out. You can learn who your friends are when it comes to money though, and usually, you realize that you have none!!!!

We wasn't playing for big money £1 blind £2 open, it's just the point that he had to cheat.
