Once this goes widespread, that'll be the end of empties. Rips will only last if treated properly.
Perhaps this is what Redlinesman was hinting about, I suppose technology is finally catching up in the AWP world, I mean even the quizzers are now removing a game that pays over a certain amount to prevent an empty.

That will just leave plain old forcing and the occasional streak then, rips won't be managed properly, how many times a day is something like a star wars being checked in the same pub? Anyhow this don't sound good.

They got caught cos they were too slow. I can't see how it affects rips anyway. Machines are allowed to pay arent they?

Surely emptiers would still be possible, as from what that article says, this security stuff is there to detect tooling, and if you havent got any kind of tool or device on you, then you are not tooling are you.

yes Emptys will be over in a day thats only a 50% reduction on what they last now
THis is to catch toolers and People with access keys. In My oppinion this is GOOD as it will take heat away now unless your the Tooler in which case F**K you anyway, now you can have all the heat not us :P :P :P
the landlord will not worry about you playing his machine as he will KNOW that there is a secruity system (OGLA) installed so he can get on with his job and just listen if the phone is ringing

.
so next time you see a player in your area all you gotta do is ring the Pub up and tell em your Septre and that they should call the Police

This is not good for us.
If they were using an electronic device, I assume it refers to something along the lines of the bellfruit credit wire thinggy.
Either way - you dont need an electronic device to pick locks and open cash boxes. That means its monitoring input / output's of the software.
The machines will have to generate specific reports of specific registers utilized by OLGA, and update them in real time. Some piggy back software running in the background could do this. Then each specific game would need a profile of normal operating parameters.
Percentage manipulation will be picked up and quickly flagged so rips could easily set off an alarm behind the bar for example.
So rips or empties will get the boss onto you sharpish. You might be able to talk your way out of getting barred once, but not the second time it happens, and not if someone else has been barred for the same thing.
A profile of the machines behaviour when a rip/empty is being performed could quickly be formed and used to generate flags.
Wouldn't be surprised if they combined it with a photo bank allowing landlords to check if your already on "the list".
Put this stuff across all platforms and rips/empties will be something you should avoid if you ever want back into the pub. They wouldn't even have to chip them as the knowledge would be practically useless, and just get you kicked out the pub.
Not that we would be doing anything wrong, but we wouldn't be playing the machine in the most profitable way for the pub. A good analogy would be casinos kicking out card counters.
So if manu's take out deliberate shortcuts like wild thing, and make stuff unforcable, I could see the goose being cooked.
It sounds like MIDAS on steroids.
Hope I'm wrong!

This is quite old news to be fair. What I was hinting at is there is suposed to be something coming out where new games are almost fool proof against any sort of percentage manipulation so us players can't really make a profit. But we've been through it all and Im not going to stir it up or keep the scare stories going, we'll just have to wait and see. Gamestec started with midas, and they have now invented i-assist which is similar to the device sceptre use and is mentioned in the article. It's fairly expensive so theres only about 25% of there estate covered, but they hope to increase this to 50% in 2011. It doesn't really affect us in terms of playing a game, except maybe for a emptier. Also these things monitor when a machine is switched on and off so just like the midas, the staff will be alerted if a machine is plugged.

I Say we should Boycot any Gamestech machine, i am organising a march against this company,
We proffesionals cannot & will not put up with this company,
They are targeting us proffesionals not the toolers & barrers, i for one will not put up with this. :x :x

Let's hope fuckwit-tec sucurity bollox is as slow to react as their call outs.
'Security alert - Machine Compromised - 3 weeks ago today - React now'

The above will not affect anybody playing fairly.

damn right .
with it costing an estimated few hundred per unit ,i can hardly see many operators clamouring for this ,if they can't even float a hopper up, this will be last last thing on their minds.
hey!!! look up there............can you see that giant filled pastry?
