Protest against landlords!

Enough is enough! Another player arrested earlier for playing a red! Will leave him to comment but i think its time to act! They accuse us of crime day after day and get away with it! My idea is an online petition which we sign with a landlord who can confirm we are not committing a crime, log it with our local police, then when arrested at least we have been accussed we have some sort of back up!

I see what your saying, but we ain't doing nothing wrong, so back up is not needed, All that will happen is you will spend a few hours in the cell till they know you ain't done fuck all wrong.

The person involved will no doubt comment on here later but surely it makes sense for us to have some sort of back up? Not saying my way is right its just an idea! This is a registered site and i would imagine 90% play legal and have nothing to hide so why not do something?

defo up for this! but it could be hard to implicate with all the differant forces etc ............. but yes something needs to be done, perhaps a general letter/email can be drafted up (Theres some clever people on here that could whip one up) and sent to manu's, suppliers, chain pubs etc............landlords need to know that playing fruits is not a crime!!, they need to learn the differance between toolers and players. That what we're doing is nothing illegal and with a bit of simple education they could realise this

There's nothing we can do, we just have to take the good and the bad. The good outways the bad so happy days.
I wish there was an easy way of punting, but we all have it easy so I'm not going to complain.

I can't really see the police saying "Ah, I see you have signed this petition which has been confirmed by somebody who has absolutely nothing to do with this case or knows anything about the circumstances or complaints towards you. Off you go then"
For all they know you might have been doing something wrong, and having someone say you know that an electrocoin numbers is a little bit irrelevant. They will have to look into the matter and will have no evidence of any wrong doing.
Its a bit like them dropping a complaint of assault because a little old granny said you once helped her cross the road.

It was me - wasn't actually arrested or even cautioned but was searched from top to toe and so was my car. I told them the truth and they believed me so I didn't go down to the station or anything. Had nothing confiscated either but still not nice.
They searched my car and saw my satnav as well as the famous blue folder with all the postcodes/pubs/playable locations and weren't worried about this at all.
Was pretty stressed out as obviously I've done nothing wrong but what else can I do now? The pub must know full well that I've done nothing wrong but played the machine legitimately so in my opinion the landlord should be charged with wasting police time.
I'm presuming the matter is now closed as they said they were satisfied I had done nothing wrong but still pretty nasty thing to happen.
The sick thing is I can only imagine it getting worse especially if the jackpot increases to £100 or higher. I said at the time that pubs weren't responsible enough to get £70 jackpot machines in and this has proven to be true.
On a positive note, I ioud a stakes and prizes for £64 today and they gave me the money no problem :-)

Has anyone ever tried calling one of those No Win No Fee lawyers and asked about suing for slander/defamation of character? A few landlords getting done for it might make the rest take note!

To give the offending landlord a taste of their own medicine, follow these simple steps...
Step 1....
Obtain a decent photograph of landlord.
Step 2....
Copy photo onto a sheet of A4 paper
Step 3....
Write WARNING! This man, the landlord of (insert name of pub) is a known predatory paedophile/ drug dealer/ woman beater/ poisoner etc. Frequent his Pub at your peril.
Step 4....
Photocopy this a couple of hundred times and start pasting them to walls in the area.
Step 5....
Sit back and laugh as his business/ reputation is ruined.

Nice idea Mcstreak but think that would make us even more enemys!

. Had a bury landlord though who banned me and was later charged with flashing at the teenage waitresses! His nickname was "fiddler" as well!

Christ. That must have been literally an hour after phoning me mate? Lol. I have brought everyone bad luck recently.
Example of misfortune for me and others this week...
Sat in front of a bloke on a train, he collapsed and died during the journey.
Got to a hotel in Birmingham and the fire alarm went off as soon as I got in the shower on the 9th floor. Room 911. How ironic.
