The VBTs around in many bingo and licences AGCs are pushing the limit on the law. They have a progressive jackpot and are up to £4 play. It's basically playing a game of bingo, but with a compensated side game. The machine gives you a number of balls then allows you to "purchase" more, based on the amount you can win the machine sets the price for the ball, for example If you need one number to obtain a full house the machine could charge you £7.60 for that ball, even though the machines knows not to offer a major win. Now this type of machine should be made illegal.
£100 or £75 JP is what Bellfruit/Danoptra said was their preference when the last consultation took place - and it ended up being £70. So the industry clearly feels that continually ramping up the top prize is the solution to making up the revenue shortfall.jeffvickers wrote:I'd expect £100 JPs with no stake changes
If we're talking stake changes, these would surely only be seen in arcades/casinos only - there's NO WAY you could reasonably expect a pub machine to charge someone £2 for one spin of a S34 machine, and if they think the public at large are likely to pay it in this economic climate then something is very wrong.
Interestingly, the next increase in prize would almost certainly be from £70 to £100 - which would see the Cat C prize entering into Cat B4 territory. How would that work with licensing?
This machine may at times offer a choice where the player has every chance of bankruptcy

to be honest i hope it doesn't go up in the pub sector ........... why ? , because ive been barred from more pubs in the last two years , than in the last 20 before that combined .
despite what you put in , the landlords just see the same faces walking out their pubs with £70
you think its fire now ?? ,,,,,,,,, £100's can only make it worse

Bored of the grind.
There's a lot of machines out there where the jackpot is labelled as '£70' but realistically it's higher. So in essence we are already there. They may well up the advertised jackpot to £100, with say up to 1 repeat.
There's lots of examples of this. Lo-tech and hi-tech kit.
You know how the industry hypes things up and maybe an increase would be beneficial short term for the manus.

The killing of the 25p stake is a good thing, as 80-90 per cent of your casual mugg punters will play on this stake. Could anyone clear this up, does the 25p play affect the play on 50p, i mean does it buzz the machine up as a whole if say 40-50 is put through it on 25p. Will is buzz it up for a player who will play on 50p?

So thats 80-90% LESS play without casual munter play , if the 25/30p stake is removed ( which it wont ).maverick69 wrote:The killing of the 25p stake is a good thing, as 80-90 per cent of your casual mugg punters will play on this stake. £10 jp / 20p stake = 50-to-1
£15 jp / 25p stake = 75-to-1
£25 jp / 25p stake = 100-to-1
£35 jp / 25p/50p stake = 140-to-1 or 70-to-1
£70 jp / 50p/100p stake = 140-to-1 or 70-to-1
And finally..
£5 jp / 10p stake = 50-to1
The lower the ratio, the better the play. Conclusion is that £15 jp yielded the most playable AWP days, along with the £5/10p. For punters, I think the jp went up too fast, and certainly above inflation.
