Hi, I'm Marcus 47 in Scotland (West Coast). I'm not too hot on fruit machines, but I enjoy playing them. One things for sure - I'm not an addict. First one I had in around 2001 was a Jewel in the Crown and I can still hear the music in my head today. Had a few machines including a coin-op submarine which provided months of entertainment for the kids, both mine and the locals.
Having recently picked up a Barcrest Horn of Plenty, my objective is to learn as much as possible about the internals electronically so I can maintain it in the future. Had to remove the front door and it took three of us to get it up two flights of stairs but it was all worth it. The machine runs exactly as it should (for now). One thing's for sure, it's staying up there! Room for three more, but the next one needs to be themed (eg Dr Who, Italian Job etc). All good fun. Nothing more.

Welcome to all the newbies, hopefully you find what you're looking for. Keep up the pics of old machines, plenty of members love a nostalgia trip, even if it only ends up making them feel older!

Hello to you ChesterJester, did you leave your manners in your email verification link. Everyone here seems to be either on the take, depressed or trolling.

Hi ,my name's Perry, I'm a total noob when it comes to fruit machines. I wasn't allowed to play them as a kid and haven't got a clue how to play them properly as an adult so never put my coins in them in the pub!
I've recently acquired a faulty one that I hoped to fix for my kids to have a go on (and figure out to teach me)
Hopefully we'll all be winning our own money back in no time at all on 'up pompay' !

Posting to secure my membership, planning to make a post in the Buy/Sell thread forum later as I'm looking to get ahold of a machine to put in my garage that I've finally turned into a bit of a games room.

Funnily enough I've been reading some of the threads on here and I'm pretty sure I recognise a couple of people from the Suffolk area, Glendale being one, I was never hardcore into the 'pro' scene but I did pretty good for a couple of years when the £15 jackies came in, good times.

Hi I am Daniel. I have a great affection to Fruit Machines and love playing them when I'm out and about. Used to play them a lot more when I was a few years younger and had an absolute favourite machine. Funny Money by Impulse Gaming. I used to purposely seek this machine out and played this all over the country. I have now decided it is my personal mission to locate this machine and buy it for my house. However, to date, I still haven't had any joy in locating this. So one question I have. Can anybody help me with my quest to locate one? Thanking you all in advance for any suggestions or advice given.

Hi all.

Based near Mansfield, North Notts area.

Just joined after purchasing my latest machine (Mazooma Side Splitter) for £35. Used to own a Monopoly Deluxe about 13 years ago. Dont really play them out and about much, but love having a bit of retro "furniture" about the house to tinker with.

Hi, my name is Jon, and have had an interest in Fruit Machines since a young age. My mother bought me a 1p one armed bandit back in the 70's (from Exchange & Mart I believe). It was great, but unfortunately broke on the same day (Christmas Day!)

Since then I have had 3 further machines - a 5p one armed bandit slot, followed by an Ace 4 reel Fruit Machine (I think it was an Andromeda5), then later I had a more modern machine with nudges etc (cant remember the make/model).

I am interested in finding out more information about the "Ace" machine. It was Blue, and had flat silver buttons for start/hold etc with the Ace logo.

Cheers!

Jon
