Cops and Robbers

Post by currypot »

Hi i own a 94/95 cops and robbers £200 jackpot machine.
Machine was working great till last night.
I had the back door open and was playing on free when i got called away by my girlfriend,i pushed the door to and walked away but heard the alarm sound a couple of times.

On returning, nothing was working, lights in the machine were on but the front lights had all gone and the reels would not spin.

I have no experience as to fixing a machine,so any help, advice would be grateful, thank you.

Power supply unit. It`s the big heavy thing at the bottom of the machine where the lead goes into. There will be 4 push and turn black plastic fuse holders on it.

Jaffa,i pulled the machine out to take a look, switched it on and it came alive!!
So i played a few goes, cheated in the jackpot to hear it play"whoa im going to Barbados"Then half way through the song it went all glitchy and the LCD went all funny and ended up showing error 97?

Now it is dead again,i checked all the fuses and they all seem fine although one was hard to get out and the clasp that holds the fuse looked a bit knackered.

Could be a lot of things, PSU, main board etc. Someone with more knowledge than me will probably come along and help you shortly!

Have a quick look at the main board (attached on the inside of the back door under a metal box) and look for leakage (green) from the small battery. Just an idea!

Hoping its not a big problem, dont think it is,as there are some lights on in the back.
