Though on a more serious note, I kind of feel sorry for Raoul Moat. He must have known as soon as he fired the first shot at his ex-girlfriend that his life was effectively fucked. Plus that detective on TV was urging him to give himself up, whereas the papers were saying that the armed police had orders to shoot on sight. No way out.

I think the only reason they didn't shoot him was due to the TV cameras being there, and after what happened to Charles Mendenez, the police couldn't be too trigger happy.
