Ditto on practically everything said here.
Just shows that pots mean next to nothing. They're awful machines. Took me a few K to realise that they're not worth a coin. Not a proud boast.
I'd particularly like to echo Lee's comment, not many would be honest enough to post it. Congratulations Mr. Cheese, your honesty has probably saved others many Ks by making them think twice.
What's the point of a forum if people only post their wins on these things and keep quiet about their K losses? I know the stats, I talk to arcade regulars. I know the dough these things take in the LBOs and the arcades.
What's the point of a machine you can lose a K with ease and win a pot by a small miracle?
I've still yet to hear of a good, fair, s16/B3 product, excusing anecdotal evidence for £10 spin Ocean's 11 (Gamesoft) and £5 spin Hi Roller.
I seriously doubt the others even make %, corrupt to fuck, just like bookies roulette.
Just in case the message isn't clear here it comes and this isn't preaching at you mr. cheese, we've all been there done that and been suckered by this HUGE CON.
"DISCIPLINE!!!!! STAY AWAY FROM SHIT FAKE 'RANDOM' ROULETTE AND POTS CRAP AND LONG CYCLE LO TECH SHIT!!! IT'S MORE RIGGED THAN ON LINE POKER!!!"

Yep I've been there!! It's sick isn't it?
Sounds like the machine went into pmk/jg mode the moment you fed ur first note in!!
This kind of thing happens to me 2 or 3 times a year!! Pop in bookies to place some football accums. Quickly check pots on riches. Why do it?? U know what a joke they are!! Rarely does it pay off.
A handful of boards for a grand in. What value.
Terrible machines but rather disturbingly as ob says, those pots would still make me think it's worth a chase!!
Apologies trayhop for that last comment!!

Last summer I put £1500 through an Elvis had to leave for closing. Went to casino with £500 banged it on odd, it won. Left it on for cashbacks and it lost. Quickest I've ever been in and out of the casino

Also my worst day gaming! Didn't even bother going back for the Elvis the next day.

We all know how shit roulette is, but at 97.3% payout it actually looks tempting when you consider that a lot of B3 games in bookies are on a flat 90%. Some even go as low as 88%, and a lot of operators are now asking for 88% versions of various games, so things are going to get even worse.
I still cannot for the life of me understand how intelligent people can waste so much money on negative expected value games such as these. I guess it's the excitement of not knowing what's going to happen, which to an extent isn't the case on compensated stuff.
Sorry to hear about these losses.

mr plumb , you just touched on something that i wrote about a long time ago in the bookies section ,,,,,,,,,,,,,, namely ,,,,,,,, that gambling isn't just a disease for the stupid , but that it can lure truly intelligent people into its grasp also ,,,,,,,,

Just to give people an idea of how " fair" these are, i spoke to the manager of a bet fred last week and she said in the 11 months they had been open they had made £1 million profit on the 4 terminals! Works out about £3000 a day profit! Nice!

Without FOBT's high-street bookmakers would be f*cked.

How did they manage before then?
Been around for years, way before online betting, betfair etc.

Pretty much answered your own question, majority of their turnover was high-street based from bets but now it has shifted to online.
A quote from a manager "the only thing keeping us open is the fobt's as we certainly don't get as many bets as we once did"
