Have tried both but can honestly say, and current results prove this for me, you're better off on your own.

Loads of reasons. First is 1 drink per pub instead of 2 (or even 3 in the case of a certain pinstriped player who insists on taking his gf round and making you pay for her food and drink halfs too). Also you've got no splitting of funds although if you split up and do pubs seperately it shouldn't matter hugely. But then you've got disagreements about where to go, what to play etc, before you consider different playing styles etc.

Plus certain players have an issue with bookies so spend loads of time in there, or don't get up on time, and I for one can't be arsed waiting and wasting my time.

Other gamblers also have a liking for doing routes behind your back and you can't trust many gamblers out there so another disadvantage.

Overall pretty conclusive on my part!

I've always been a singular player (when I 'was' a proper player) but now do it far more for the social aspect of being in a pub with pals and such.

Everyone falls out with other players at one time or other mate, it's one of the bad parts to this game.

I've had my share of falling out with people, and the last few days have been no exception, but am I bothered? No. Definately not.

I'm in this game to make money - not friends. They hardly exist in this game anyway. If you pass on any info then you're a c**t. If you withhold info then you're also a c**t. You can't win.

I take it you don't trust people. Or is it people don't trust you, If so Ya need to get along with people ( players ). It's wrong not to. Most players I have spoke to over the years are good men. It's all about trust.

I agree with the trust thing 100% mate, I just wouldn't go halves with someone I did not trust, we quite often split up to get round quicker when needed, or there's boozer one of us is barred from so the other goes in etc, I have gone it alone and the money is obviously better but I don't mind going halves either.

I've also never fallen out with any of my slotting pals.

Trusting my slotting pals is not the problem Scott. I trust them 100%.

I'd never go halves with someone I didn't trust.

I just don't do politics, that's all.

Plus, as my phone isn't like a Thompson Local, and I don't collect players numbers like like some people collect stamps, I can't ring players when the usual bullshit does the rounds.

You're right in part Bowie. Many players can't be trusted.

Perhaps I should go to the next fruitchat meet up, then everyone will see where the truth lies. In fact I will be there, but I don't mind betting that those on here who have slagged me off "won't be able to make it".

Two members on this forum I would trust 100% though would be Ob (though I've never worked with him, or have his number), and Sir Rat, who I have worked with on a handful of occasions. Not to say I don't trust anyone else though.

Sorry Bowie!

It was Bigv038, his title is in white and iPods aren't the best for picking up colour variations, I must appologise!
