I thought the same. However it looks like we're mistaken.

I think that may have been a rumour based on the style of some of 'Crests games.

Hope you are wrong, we don't need another 50 or so DOND's.

Or maybe we do, maybe the barcrests wouldnt be so harsh, if the BFM's were any use we would be praising how long theyve been going. Its not the style of machine, its the quality.

And for munters you cant beat DOND.

Here's the likely differences between Barcrest and BFM:

BFM:

-High board costs
-Usually 'All or Nothing' boards (£3 or top)
-DOND game rarely opens unless lively
-DOND game values 'appear' random (on most, the newer ones appear slightly less so, but that's open to debate)
-COB-factor

Barcrest:
-Sensible board costs (unless ripped (A, PM, CYC))
-Boards 'often don't mind' offering £6+
-DOND game opens quite frequently
-DOND game values 'appear' more closely linked to the board value

So, there's obviously a combo of pro and con there, but you pays your money, you COB for 'Bust'. ;)

My favourite DOND machine is LPDOND. And the reason is it pretty much avoids all the things listed above. Ok, boards can cost a bit if it's in a mood but you often get them quite quick and often. You do get boards block out at £3/£4 but I find a lot of mid range boards too where I've got up to £20/£40 before being forced out. The DOND game is available quite often via getting the numbers high or rolling a 12/shot on your first spin. And the fact you can collect it on a ? (even tho the button isn't lit for some reason) means you can safely carry on around the board to see if there's better things. COB on this machine also seems decent - i've had high cash wins, as well as top line features, and even the DOND feature. Oh and message from the banker can be awesome: "press hold 1 now for deal or no deal." - ok!

Overall, I love the machine and it makes me not want to go near any other DOND.

I had some successes on LP DOND when it first came out, it is certainly one of the better ones. There's one in a Spoons near me though that simply is not worth touching. I've seen hundreds go through it, but people colelct £20 here and there and it keeps it pretty dead. Agree that this one tends to give the phones far more than most of the others. Also, as you say, COB gives the phone game, not just one of the boxes like the other DONDs - had a few £40s and £70s from that - it also seems to do a COB-streak of phone games...

i quite like lpdond as when its gaming it will keep gaming till you get a high win and sometimes you can trap the phones e.g whenever it rolls a 12 first spin for 1st fone take your shots and it normally slows down with cancel or gives 2nd fone then lower. i often had £40 stacks but they are still out of the blue.
and we need to remember that it isnt dond that we dont like....
its bellend-fruit!
the only time a player plays a bellend-fruit machine is if theres summink on it where as im sure most players have played a shark raving mad.
