Do I Need A License To Own A Fruit Machine?

Can anyone settle this arguement? I have bought a 2nd hand fruit machine, for my own personal use, it's in my kitchen and no-one else uses it but me. I have been told, by someone at work, that I still need a license to own it as I am putting coins into it (not freeplay) I find this doubtful but is it true?? Anyone savvy on UK gaming Laws??
Thanks.

You only need a licence if your siteing it, as its for your own personal use and entertainment no licence is needed.

This.
Most companies make you sign a disclaimer that you won't site it if you buy it from them, to cover themselves.

Not a licence, just a permit from the council IIRC.

A licence would then be required.
