Only seen it once before that and it was years ago.

It must be some machines do better or appeal more in other areas as there are loads of machines I have just never seen in my area even though they are really popular in general. I remember a few years ago just about every machine in the city pubs I went to was a rev or fireball type machine. We seem to be getting quite a few vivids recently unfortunatly.
I know what you mean about never seeing certain machines I have never seen a " new york new york" " on the buses" machine whether at local arcades, seaside amusements anywhere. And I dont think I have ever seen a JPM in my area( Sunderland) for about 5 years, whether in pubs or in arcades at £5 jackpot, which is a shame as I wouldnt mind playing on some old JPMS like Arcadia, super breakout again, (least they are emulated).
Is there any JPMS still about in your areas? I would of thought there are bound to be still a few kicking about on lower stakes and prizes?

Still a few JPM's knocking around here, CT and fantaztec X2 2 red arrows, some clone of super breakout which i find quite poor even with the first feature thing.
Also a few kapangs on low jackpots.

My town is full of Reds / 'crests - so have it lucky at the mo! To be fair there have never really been any spells of 'poor machines' near to me. A few BFM's pop up here and there, but it is defo a Red & Crest haven...
I have 'never' seen a Vivid in the wild by me, (it don't sound like I'm missing much!)
Going back a few years the place was flooded with JPMs. Talking of those, there was a casino based one that I don't think is around on the EMU scene - it had three dollars that were a shortcut to a big money type feature, and the board was 'similar' to their sonic the hedgehog. Anyone know of it?

That'll be JPM's Casino Las Vegas - which was the first machine I saw do an IM.
It was an identical game to Sonic The Hedgehog with different artwork. Used to be one in Euston station in the upstairs pub which was usually good for a few quid.
It had a nice little habit of going to the first Mystery and giving you a Skill Select thing, so that you could pick Roll Up Roll Up - then stop an 11 on the number reel, and it would boost, boost and boost again up to the JP. The gameplay was OK-ish (but not great) and as you say, three dollar symbols opened the Big Money thing (same as the five coconuts on Rollercoaster).
It was only out on £10 JP or less, as far as I remember.

Yer arse, Matt. They were similar but they certainly weren't the same.
For one thing, the Casino las Vegas version made you get 9 for a trail, meaning double up from the bonus had less than no meaning.

I do recall it being a bit different, and also remember the 11 and Add Again 'rip'.
I can't seem to find this one for the emulator though? Surely it would have been done, doesn't seem to be any different technology to other JPMs of that era?

No idea! I consider myself doing well if I can actually get the bloody emulator to work.

Plenty of Extremes and Bellfruits round here. Only one Barcrest IIRC which is Space Raiders. There used to be a Bully For You in a local but that has now been replaced with Dough Selecta. Everything else is pretty rare apart from a few Reds scattered about, namely Life's a Beach, Jewel in the Crown, Legal Tender and Pay Cheque. My nearest local has a Mazzooma Bobby Dazzler though. No QPS, Impulses, Vivids or the like about.

I have no globals or QPS's near me. Only Barcrest, Bell Fruit, Red, Extreme, Mazooma and the odd Vivid here.

Never seen a Megazone, Smash Martians, or ANY barcrest Dart game.
We will probably get them in 2009

Drop me a line and i'll get you up and running in, ooooh, about 3 minutes
Around my way it's not brilliant. A few Barcests, mainly globals (or was the last time I looked) in the pubs.
All the arcades are more lo tech or multi players based.
I travel about a bit, I would say Jpm (Impact) machines are least about.

A local seaside arcade near me practically has all of the older JPM and ACE impact machines released in their arcade on £5 jp including Captain Scarlet, Euphoria, Twister, Your Lucky Knight, Vindaloot, Thunderbirds (across one) and The Fruit Machine.

I have never played, or even
seen a Fantaztec, Viper Jive or Golden Dragon 'in the flesh'.
