Here are Redlinesman’s views for what they are worth.

No disrespect but it sounds like a publicity stunt. This game is has been far too kind to some of us and to start a crusade about what is being said sounds a bit silly. If you start taking money off a bookmaker, they won't want your custom as a 'non-profit customer' if you go to a casino and card count they will ban you, and if you go into a pub to take profit from AWPs you may get barred. If I ran a pub I would think exactly the same and would want the fruit machine to be there for the entertainment of genuine pub customers. When talking about things like pots being reset, it's just opening a can of worms that may bite back. The good thing about this industry is it doesn't really make sense and its laxity and negligence is responsible for pro fruit players being able to make a good living. To argue for legislation change and players/gamblers rights over minor issues is a dangerous game as if the industry really did get its act together we'd possibly be in a spot of trouble.

Are you posting on behalf of Redlinesman or are you Redlinesman? If the latter why refer to yourself in the third person, it doesn't make you sound any more important...

However I agree with what you are saying in the most part, and having read the thread through again the more wishy-washy the concept is sounding.

It is akin to a footballer running down his £100k a week contract, and then bemoaning the 'obscene' amount of money in football.

If you have made a good living from fruit machines, or are from a wealthy background and have been afforded certain advantages in life, a good education for example, then it is a bit rich bleating about how legislation needs to be changed, and the Gaming Commission needs to tighten up etc, because if such measures had been introduced in the early 90's then you most probably wouldn't have reaped the benefits of two decades of easy money, and wouldn't be sat in your ivory towers. The only people who would support such a scheme are those in a similar position to yourself, because everyone else is either lacking the intelligence to understand the finer details, or too busy running around trying to make ends meet because they weren't born with a silver spoon in their mouth.

Noels Beard wrote:These are all good points. I'll mention about the Static Cashpots as well. And I'll mention about the resetting of Pots in Bookmakers. And Barrings from Bookmakers. Would just be a lot better to have correspondence to back it up.
Barrings from bookmakers? Now you have got me started! Recently I got informed by "Top Irish Bookmaker" Boylesports that I was : a. No longer to accept early prices. No Best Odds Guaranteed and it was SP bets only.
b. I was no longer allowed to use the Phone a bet service (although I have never used it anyway) & c. Was no longer entitled to features such as extra places in horse races etc. However they said I could still continue to place bets via their website. How very kind of them! Thank you so much for this special honour I must say.
Now I know that it is up to the bookie concerned what bets he will & will not accept, but I think it is highly unfair that they are still allowed to advertise as being a "Best Odds Guaranteed" bookmaker on all UK racing when this is really only available to selected customers. Other thing is that I am overall DOWN £120 with this bookmaker & have never made any withdrawls from my account, so what is their excuse for this outrageous behaviour? And yes. I do have documentation to back this up.

Thing is most of my bets are £20. £40 at a maximum. No true bookmaker should have a problem with this size of bet.
