I'm gonna (deliberate slang there) agree with Dark Horse and McStreak here.
Personally I don't like to see poor grammar or spelling mistakes, and I do try and correct any that I make.
However, I can't help thinking that a lot of players are getting a bit snappy with others lately, and I'm wondering it's because things - for them - aren't going all that well at the moment regarding fruits.
I mite be rong but hoo cares?

hahaha. In our line of work, spelling and gramatical proficiency is'nt really no 1 on the list of attributes.
1. Discipline.
2. Work ethic
3. Timing
4. Contacts.
5. People skills, the last one doesnt even really matter, you can be socially inept and play fruit machines
My ability to spell and to write well is good, but i cant be bothered to make it perfect for you lot to read. I might make more of an effort from now on though.

You're right about privilege, you have every right to play whatever you like, and I don't blame your eagerness to garner information and put that to use! But you are wrong about being on a scale, you distinctly are, as is everyone else, and everyone's behaviour contributes to their position within this aggregated community. I'm sorry you have become a scapegoat for a much larger situation; and I'm not going to keep harping on about it. However, I will say that young people see the consequences of their actions in a way that tends to exonerate them from blame, and in his mid 40's, Darren from Bury/Ipswich, should know better.titchno1 wrote:The thing that gets to me is people think they have privilege over others. I'm not 1st 2nd or 3rd rate player. I'm not on the scale. I don't wanna be on a scale. All I know is I make money. I keep myself to myself and get on with what I have to. Yes I have passed info on so has everyone else. Yes I have received info just like everyone else. I'm not a blabber mouth and tell anyone and everyone.
I'm down to earth and not up my own arse. Like I say nothing wrong with a couple off pictures obviously its discreet and I know I will get away with it. Have a look on my face book there is only a picture of me playing one that's it. I don't know why I typed All this I don't need to prove myself to anyone you can all have opinions but it doesn't mean anything.
Does everyone pass info on? No. Or everyone would know everything. Surely you can conceive that there might have been things that completely (or almost) passed you by before you heard of them. The empties of the last few years? Did everyone all get them at one go? No. If I was emptying something and some player came in would I just walk away? Even at a loss? Yes. And how do you get to be in this privileged position? To have so many things do early? By keeping a low profile. By not filming yourself. By not driving 200 miles up the road and ruining someone else area. By thinking further ahead than your next win.
But as I've hinted at previously. I feel you're only here to stroke each others egos. I'm glad you're making money, and long may it continue. But what would happen if everyone who played the machine knew it as well as you? If fairness and a level playing field is what we're grasping for....why not put instructions on every one explaining every possible tip, trick, and sign? Or just encourage them to make them genuinely random right now. My point is you can't exploit the compensated nature of the machine and then defend yourself in telling every jobsworth you went to school with everything you know.
It's Capitalism, I'm not a fan, but this is the world we live in. Cut-throat.
Big post buy you buy the time I get half way down I have forgot the rest haha. You have never received info? Which means you work everything out yourself. You have never ever passed info on? I would love to meet some one and say they Havn't passed any 1. I have a lot of competition round here and still do ok. I. Seem think its better having a few tucked things or stuff you no full timers are barred from. I know off 5 or 6 players 4 are top off that chain if that's what you would like to call it. No I don't have there numbers etc . Just say hello when bumping into each other. My locals 3 pubs I went in to all 3 pubs 2 find a different player in each, is that no competition? When I was down london and done bits and bobs there and back it was easy compared to what I was used to. I have never had an empty every time iv got it its to late.
Beard were do you play, because you talk like you know me but you no nothing its like putting 2 and 2 together and getting 17. Its like you think you know more about me than what I do.
I don't no anyone on this site. I met darren once, we have never exchanged anything and I don't plan to. (No offence darren).
Anyway its late and I have a early start, the wallpaper isn't going to hang its self on the ceiling.

I'm sorry. You don't deserve my wrath. I'm being childish myself, piggy-backing on others musings on your spelling. It's cool. And of course people tell me stuff. All too frequently. I wish they wouldn't. The best way is to work things out yourself, and share with as few as possible. It's Darren I have the issue with. That's as far as I've got with culpability.
Mr McStreak wrote:Using your phone for any reason whilst playing a machine is inviting trouble in my opinion. Not that I am judging you, alot of people do it/ have done it in the past. I don't answer my phone when it rings if I am playing a machine.
Spot on there Richard. Bar staff or landlords will find any excuse to hoof you out. This is inviting trouble!

Whats with all this putting "discipline" as the number one attribute for a player Mav?
I know Trayhop believes that strongly as well. Absolute rubbish. I used to think that as a beginner, but now I see discipline as a basic requirement for playing fruits, anyone who isn't disciplined is just an absolute clown. It's something that becomes ingrained into most people after a couple of years plying pro successfully, as their style of play develops. It's not one of the things you would concentrate on or be trying to improve after many years in the game. You've either got it or you haven't.
Something like work ethic is much more important. There are a million ways to improve your work ethic and standard. Not that most players would even try.
In my opinion there is only one word/attribute that really matters, the one big one that will always separate the men from the boys. It is "INITIATIVE". The one thing that 95% of players are lacking. The ability to do and learn things with out being told them first.
Yes everyone is told or tells someone else stuff at times, but the best players will always have learnt the majority of what they play through their own experiences.

i was just listing it wasnt in order of importance....you make a very valid point.....that i have made before 99 per cent of players are robotsThe Dark Horse wrote:Whats with all this putting "discipline" as the number one attribute for a player Mav?

hmmm ,,,,,,,,,, i respect your viewpoint dark m8 .
but there has bound to be players out there with good initiative working things out etc ,,,,,,,,,, that lack the discipline to keep the money from what they have worked out by blowing it down different avenues , ,,,,,,,,,,,, dont forget even if somebody has worked out something for themselves , the best kept secret trick ever , gives it no one etc ,,,,,,he still needs discipline to slow play it , only taking small un-noticeable amounts etc,,,,,
ive been at this 25 years or so , and im under no illusion to my cerebral limits ,,,,,,,,,,, im decidedly average at best.
there are far far smarter players out there than me , but without discipline it gets you nowhere in life,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, you can have all the initiative in the world .
i met joe jogia the other day in willy hills (whilst i was slogging out a luck8 )
he's ranked 40th in the world and has intermittent tv coverage with all the top pro's
and he seems a genuine nice guy .
but both scott and martin will be the first to tell you that he is always trying to tap them up for a tenner loan.
sad wasted potential , by lack of discipline wasting his life in the bookies.
you will never ever convince me that discipline isn't the biggest attribute for most of lifes success , bar none .
we all have potential to earn ,,,,,,,,,,,,,, but how many of us can keep hold of it???
