Bristol has loads of outside players other than the odd argument nothing serious has gone on there to my knowledge. Glendale may or may not contribute to problems in areas but to lay the blame on 1 person is just wrong.

where had all this stemmed from? Has anyone got something concrete that says glendale is the cause of such problems? I very much doubt it

once again player hearsay is taken as bible.
Talking from past experiance where i've been accused of creating players/clueing up the not so clued etc.

Mind, if i wrong i apologise but i cant fathom the idea of one person causing such an uproar

if he is he should be hung drawn and quarterd :)
He isn't right of course, he just thinks he is.

Think there's some people missing the point, especially you tichno. The issue isn't suposed to be about top boys and areas ruined, I think the overwhelming concern is gamblers who are trying to be players concerning themselves with threats and intimidation to gain a foothold into the game. Is there not someone who lives in the area who can give some sort of authorative comment on the situation. There's been similar things going on in the South Coast a few years ago, where a person, and it's normally a person who lacks any real intelligence or social skills decides to harass and intimidate respectable players. These individuals normally operate in groups and give a bad name to the profession, theres no doubt about it. Any player with a twinkling of ambition in life, and who has standards and morals will no doubt agree.

what is it then?

everyone has a right to play them as long as they don't know how to and nobody ever tells them how either?

JG can certainly tell a story, at least we all know his just having a laugh.

This is exactly the type of attitude that people are disgusted about, it seems like you subscribe to it. 'He has it better though because people are shit scared' That's a sad point of view to have, especially when the people your talking about aren't probably even real players.

As for myself and the Chief coming to these areas, we have been many times before and will go there whenever we need to, we have no qualms whatsoever. Many years ago we were warned not go to Sunderland, and the Chief's older brother was my driver at the time. He knew a bloke called Ernie who more or less ran some of the North East area and we ended up in his house having a few drinks, it was quite near the centre of sunderland but was near the sea-front. He told me he has a security firm and looks after many pubs in the area, gave me his number and said call him if him if I ever have any problem in the area. Been back to the area plenty of times, but to be honest we've never had any trouble and if we get any the Chief will sort it. Was at a football match at Newcastle last year and ended up stopping in the area for 2 weeks, never seen a sole apart from a couple of old schoolers in the centre who were pleasant enougth and we had a pint with them.

Tell you what JG, I'm going give you a good piece of info the next time I go for a substantial vacation. Posted the Milton Keynes story as I thought people would find it interesting and it is a true account of what happened.
