you and logic do not go together i'm afraid... before the cap on stakes/prizes if the shop ran out of money or £10k win was achieved they where switched off.anonamouse wrote:logically, they won't pay more than they have in the safe. betfred round here will sometimes make you come back the next day for peanuts, but the bookies is a big business; the head office will run all kinds of profit & loss reports about which game earns them the most... they're not there to lose money.. it's not even their money ffs, it's all other peoples money, redistributed.
i've played several times this year where shops not had money to pay, even if they did empty the machines.
local to me now the machines are getting very little play, corals seem to be doing different promotions all the time, ladbrokes said turnover was down so the profile of the slots have been changed, independant gives 10% back on losses as either cash or credit, hills soon to open up in the small town as well.... all because there was a few big local players, some go to casino now instead/others gone skint.
now the 10% back is a really good deal if you play roulette or blackjack to optimum stratagy... if the CatCs got more play then it would be a cracking offer.

That would make Man Utd flat broke, but as a business they're highly profitable.Ruler of The World wrote:Er, forgive me, but in my book if you're in debt you're skint! You don't have the money to do what you need to so you're skint! Therefore, CORAL the bookmakers ARE SKINT!!!!

It shows you don't understand how money works or its purpose. If it was the case that you had to have money to do anything then nothign would ever get done.Ruler of The World wrote:Er, forgive me, but in my book if you're in debt you're skint! Corals have more than enough money to operate, compleately stupid to run a business with cash in the bank and not doing anything with it, far better to be loaded with debt and take the risk away.
Make perfect sense to have debt opposed to cash in the bank and a smaller business... in fact lots of homeowners in this country on paper are skint, massive mortages that they can't pay, but they have such rediculously low mortage rates that its compleate stupidty to pay down the debt on depriciating assetts, where the cash can be invested or more simply saved at a greater rate.

Was this post your attempt at mis-spelling as many words as possible in 1 post?Roll_With_It_Russ wrote:It shows you don't understand how money works or its purpose. If it was the case that you had to have money to do anything then nothign would ever get done.

I'd rather be in Ladbrokes' position than Coral's - compared to Ladbrokes, Coral is skint!

I don't really care for spelling, but ladbrokes run their business differently, they have tried to take over companies to get a larger market share, but always bottled it at the last min... used to be part of the Hilton group, since it was spilt apart then they seemed to of lost the killer instinct.

Ironically Ladbrokes sold their casinos to Gala some time ago. If I had to invest, I would rather buy Ladbrokes shares, who are expanding into Europe, than GalaCoral, whose traditional bingo markets are really struggling. especially with the high interest rates that Corals are paying.
