Playables still return good money generally, all that's changed is the percentage of good machines is about 1 or 2 in 10, when maybe it used to be 5-6/10 goodies.

I think you've spoken too soon there TBH.

I drink in bedford pretty much every night and I have noticed a huge difference in the amount of drinkers in the pubs in the past few weeks and the worst is still to come by far.

This month will be the real test, not the last one.

Lets not forget that Xmas is looming up as well which will make a massive difference to people with familys (and lets not forget, that every 18-21 year old bird has already had a kid these days - and if they stay at home, the lads do too). Knock on effect - quiet pubs and less money in the boxes.

In a nut shell, in my opinion, Oct/Nov will be shit and Dec will be ok. Bear in mind, I'm talking about 'units taking money' and the knock on effect, so this does not necessarily apply to people with the latest info and those that can travel before people start saying "Im still making good money!", as that is not what this post is about."

On a slight change of topic Mr Pyne, I thought you were from Southend? Or at least use to frequent the arcades there on a regular basis did you not?

Nope, not me - I was from Leicester, now live in Bedford.

More importantly :-

a) Ive hardly ever been to Southend, and when I did, it was purely for slams.

b) I absolutely hate arcades so unlikely /even if/ I was in an area playing AWPs I'd have bothered going in.

:)

cheers, Mark

I live in northern ireland (which we all know is part of the UK therfor also is part of the credit crunch)so we all get the same exclusion/"club rules" ect as the UK.
Luckly for me i can drive 70-80 miles and reach Ireland a place with a bit more "sticking power at a players finger tips" altou i think the exchange rate into euros has decresed dramitcaly due to the credit crunch, im not to sure on how much because i've not been down recently and dont plan on either because it's coming to chirstmas, as said b4 October and november will be a few hard months but i cant see december being much better from all perspective's...

Yeah It's been feble recently...
The best place to go playing belive it or not is the seaside, not to the amusments at the seaside but the pubs. some money can be made in them.
Like Portstuart or Portrush... i mainly travel to coleraine city pubs because the j/ps are larger and machines are better.
