Yes I can imagine it and it's not pleasant.

cherries (£1), 7&7 (£2), lemons (£3), plums (£4), melons (£5), singles (£7), doubles (£10), triples (£15), B7s (£25), R7s (£40), JP (£60).
Just shy of £30 for a slow roll in phone board on the lower 60p stake, not forgetting the +3.1417591*2% £1 super stake. Starts on a £1, after risking numerous (?) and surviving a skill continue and getting a Hi/Lo......OK, you get a feature square. Hot Shot. You collect. Miss, miss, £1. Miss, miss, miss.

Then repeat another couple of times and you have £90 in for £4 back (the middle one went up to mixed sevens).

It can take up to £50/board on the £1 stake.

Just to check the status of things, are we friends now or do you still dislike me?

Mystery_Plum wrote:Cat C is fucked as long as there's 500 pound jackpot machines about, no matter what stake or jackpot you can put them on.

The smarter move would have been to scrap Cat C, and move Cat D up to 20p 10 pounds. Cue the return of the good old days, with loads of gameplay and value for money, and arcades packed with people getting a good game.

1/100 is as much a waste of time as 6/60. The only way for these to work is to fuck B3 off, otherwise they won't get played.

60p stake is a brainless idea, the same as the recent absurd 35 pound jackpot, or even the 4.80 token jackpot back in the late 80's.
Mystery_Plum is absolutely right - a 60p stake is simply ridiculous.

We're witnessing the beginning of the end for casual gameplay - as I'm afraid 60p/spin is simply not within the scope of the casual punter, especially as we head into recession.

I assumed that 50p/£50 JP would be the natural progression before the next stake increase.

The main reason I think why the game is going to the wall is that the manufacturers, programmers and the like simply have no idea of the actual playing of fruits or how the general punter feels.

We don't think too much after a while about playing on 50p per play because we are used to it as pro players, and can afford it (maybe not after a stint on rou), but I know that many more punters would play them if they were back to the 25/30p play £15/£25 jackpot. In doing so, the companies would be making more from them. . . . . and us too.

My friend who has a very successful arcade in Shitsville (otherwise known as Hastings) says that if a punter has £100 to spend, he'll want a game for his money. He's gonna lose it come-what-may, but at least he's had entertainment for it.

But I suppose the companies in question don't want to hear it from people who "know" - people like us.

Totally agree. The reason the industry is in the shit is partly down to the global slump, but also the POOR choice and PLAYABILITY of machines at the moment. It's pathetic, you don't want to pay £9 for a dream factory board that kills you in 5 hits and offers no moer than £2-£3. Bring back older games with a trail, where you knew your board would be there with a fiver and you'd get some amusement. Not practice at putting coins down a chute and never seeing them again.

As long as they have the option to play the cheaper stakes, the machines will get filled. If they go to 50p/60p dedicated play then it will fail. Can't see that happening though, people will still play at 10p a shot of it's available, they won't know it's pointless, but 10p players and 30p players will still exist if it's available.

I dunno most big time munters, ie. those that put £10+ in a machine play it on 50p and dont seem to moan... as long as the machines have the DOND game people don't care, I'm constantly amazed that on stuff like dream factory people get to £20ish on the cashpot YET still take the DOND game with only like 1p and 10p elminated.... thing is people like that shitty DOND game that much they wont worry too much about stake etc... pity that means only poor bfm's will do well eh..

£1 Novelty DOND. IN a local bowling alley.

Get a 1p box and you get a free Wimpy burger.

1,000,000 = a free game of bowling for one person.

There was (maybe still is) one of those in Nuneaton Bowling alley, except the number of points required to win anything are laughable.
