thinkin bout it.. i know one mug , who put £5500 into one of those £2 per credit £500jkpt 4 player machines. cant member the name, but it randomly puts u up on the super board or whatever u wanna call it. which throws in wins of of either Red 7's, Golden stars or Bars.. adding upto a random amount when it doesnt throw in any win. he played it to get the jackpot, this is how much it cost him lol. But he is a 1st class mug.. Slotto maybe, or something like that..

eh . yeh.
folkestone Dome Aracade was a big family arcade. ok, when i was 6 i think the average machine in the aracde was only crack the nut, and other 2p/5p play machines. but yes.. since i was 6 i bin playing them.. not much in the past few years though, as they are so sh*t in most arcades now .and im 26 next month, so been playing fruitmachines for 20 years yes. my father would take me to the arcade since i was about 4... for those 2p pushers etc etc. always give us £1 to change into 2p's . but it didnt take long before i got bored and hit crack the nut and each way nudger and light a nudge, etc . can barely remember what was around then. that old horses fruit machine one , the grand national i thinkit was called. 5p play £3 jackpot. it was so entertaining, at the time.... i fell in love with that machine.
. so , yes i have been playing machines since i was that age :P wasnt until i was 12 that i started making good money though .
if u really refuse to believe it, and go to folkestone one day. ask 1 in any 5 gamblers in an arcade in folkestone, how long adam the addict has been gambling, you will get verification . they didnt nickname me this because it rhymed

....which incidentally, it doesn't :P
Another lite-a-nudge fan eh
Still play them now for novelty factor. I couldn't believe my luck about 10 years ago playing one in Aberystwyth pier arcade. 2 £3 JPs follwed by JPMs holding 6 times for £7! I'd never seen money like it!

got so excited when hitting the 10 nudges.. only to end up so dissapointed when nudging in the 80p .. feeling forced to gamble.
im sure it was only £2 jackpot
mellons was the JK i think . pears for 80p or something? classic.
all those flashing lights for it to dump out 2 gold coins . hehe.
although now im gonna be thinkin all night....... 2 ? or 3 ? .... hmmmm...
was more satisfying when it paid out in 10p's though

Heh - depends if its the really old lite-a-nudge in the squashed cabinet (£2 cash).....or the new taller one (£2.40/£3 cash/£4.80 or £6 tokens). Same with EWN, they made 2 versions of this. I liked EWN more as the gambled from 20p could go 40p or 60p, and you always get more excited when it went 60p -> £1.20 -> £2.40!
Let's not forget Double up Deluxe and Each Way Shuffle from the list too! Shuffles annoyed me as you had to take 10p rather than gamble it. Deluxes used to be more generous on nudges as you could gamble to double them up for the big win. Happy days. My best ever was turning £1 into about £33 on the 3 new EWN's in Pink Palace arcade in Scratby. Like i say, still play them at the coast for fun.

yeah that auto collect for 10p was a right bast*rd . especially when it didnt even pay out the 10p . bit like being given a chomp in the worlds biggest chocolate shop, only for someone to take it out your hand and stamp on it.
lets not get carried away with memory lane
now im sure it was the £2 jckpt and then later the £2.40 . i member the rush from gambling 60-120-240 . then saying to yourself, i knew i shoulda collected that damn 1.20!.. when it lost . heartbreaking.. at the time. also annoyed me (money was hard to come by at such an age for some of us) . when you would gamble from 1.60 to 2.40 , and it only paid £2 and no 10p's clicked . makin ya feel, that all that risk was for 40p

None of this 1990's pesudo repeat chance/streak/ enhanced playing period rubbish. In the early (earlier) days the machines were different. The jackpots just held after wins (how quaint). Six holds on a jackpot were not uncommon. Playing from an early age is not that uncommon. I knew the reels on each way shuffles/nudge double up deluxe/hyper viper/nudges unlimited etcetera by the age of ten. That was the way to make money.Get someone a jackpot and "tax" them 10 per cent (tokens nauturellement).

Come on you Royals
The jackpot progression went 50p,£1,£2,£3,£4,£4.80,£6,£10,£15,£25,£35.adam the addict wrote:adam the addict wrote:lol.

now im wondering if it was £2.40 ... ffs
Would have paid out 10ps, not £1 coins, or possibly 50p's on certain manufacturers.
