It's not that difficult. My brother and I used to return home from Uni on a Friday, and we both had jobs by Saturday. There's plenty of work if you want it. Saying you "can't find a job" is a convenient excuse for the fact that you're a bone idle fucker.

So when all is said and done will you still play fruities and come on here when you have got a full time career underway??

I am on a great salary and stuff but still like playing fruities, not for the money, i mean the stakes / prizes are pretty immaterial really, but i still enjoy the thrill of the chase

And i still see it as a challenge to beat the machines

Mattrick, you are seeing life through my eyes! ;)

I've a good job, (£33k, been in it nearly five years, good prospects) but I love the chase and the thrill and excitement of it all (my job and playing the fruits!)

Again, stakes / prizes aren't going to change my life (I'll never touch a £500-er, plus, I don't 'do' any other form of gambling).

I've nothing against people who are going through a 'career change' or 'progression', it's all part of the path of working life. But, people who loaf off the dole 'long term' purely down to the fact that 'they don't want to get a job' do ruffle my feathers... :?

Aside: I pay around £700 a month inncome tax, and John 'Two Flabs' Presscott sent almost that amount on changing the bloody sign on his office door!!

:)

Agreed Matt!! I would hate to feel as though i had to gamble to supplement my income in any way.

I remember however when i was at college though and the money was the main pull to play, when i won it was great but on the occasions where i would lose a hefty lump of my small weekly wage i would be gutted for days

Now, if i win a decent amount i would buy the mrs something nice or take her out for dinner or something

There is absolutely no gain for me really but i still love the flashing lights, repeat chances, skillstops, number runners etc and always will do

Mission what you say is bullshit, getting a job isn't easy, so don't go saying stuff you haven't a clue about.

i realise that there are impoverished places in this country where employment prospects are bleak but overall getting a job is a piece of piss. getting a good job commensurate with interests/experience/expertise is a different kettle of fish.

(notwithstanding if you live in a very poor area) if you can't get a job just before Christmas then you are either feeble or cretinous.
nobody ever wins on those things.

get a shit job until a good job comes along.

Get's on my nerves when I hear racist idiots moaning about 'bloody immigrants' who come here and work damn hard in unpleasant jobs, supporting a family on low wages and paying tax when there are people claiming they can't find a job and gamble for a living instead.

I played poker proffessionally for a couple of years but would not dream of claiming benefits at the same time.

those of you who thing you know what end of a fruit machine is what, why not apply for a job in the industry?

Oh really? Funny that because I'm 34 and have claimed Jobseekers Allowance for three days in total in that time. Show me a Job Centre with an empty vacancies list, then I'll start giving your comments some credence. If I was out of work, I'd be spending my days knocking on factory doors - not idling my time away in arcades. Just because a job isn't what you want to do long term, doesn't mean you can't do it whilst looking for something better.

I agree getting a job is very hard. Ive never once been successful Via an interview and probably never will be. I applied for a packing job, which I got, but everyone who had the interview got the job! It was basically your here so you can have the job!

Next was a cleaning job through an agent 'your starting tonight wether you like it or not!'

Then into the Job Center to sign on and got home to do fook all, then I got a phone call from someone in the job center saying 'your starting in the Valuation office on monday, quick interview, nobody else got a look in!

Lucky me.. I owe it all to that someone who cared.

sorry im drivveling a bit.. But never put anyone down over their employment status, its hard work out there trying to get work! :D
