I'm not taking sides here, but there's nothing to stop him going to the bank machine if he runs out of money.
And if he is paying a fortune in insurance, then obviously he's going to get a cheap car to run around in as it costs less in insurance and petrol.

But its low on insurance compared to some things isnt it? Say he tried to get insured on a 3 litre brand new Bentley? Compared to that, a small 1.1 106 would be cheap, wouldnt it?

You'd still be looking at £700+ i reckon. Brothers mates got a 1.1 Corsa which costs around that, and one of my mates who passed this year has a 1.4 M reg Civic and has to pay £1800 a year. Ouch
Compare that to the parents who pay £110 a year for a 1.6 Megane

Yeah insurance is stupidly high for some - mine is 1500 but thats for a 1.9 turbo, so in comparison i think thats pretty cheal, lol
