The first machine I ever played was made by Aaron, don't remember the name but it was 2p a go. It was in a chippy somewhere on holiday. I dived on it as soon as another young kid had lost his chip money on it.

Indeed. Project used to make some quality games. Wheel of Fortune and the treasure island one were my favourite.

I remember one with Aaron on the symbols. I didn't realise they were the manufacturer, they always looked a bit like Action Pack, the sort of stuff 'crest were turning out, so I just figured it was some wierd jackpot symbol 'crest had made up. When on the run it'd drop the cashpot thing and roll in the three Aarons. I remember doing brains (£6) in one on holiday once.

If high stakes gambling wasn't introduced then maybe arcades might still be like that. Maybe we might all still be addicts chasing the 20p £4.80 token jackpot DOND Golden game.

I really enjoy winning money, but absolutely hate losing money. I really don't know why they program machines to go on losing phases. It's not fun and it's not like the machine needs the money. If it stole a bit of electricity every now and again, I could understand it.

This machine was called 'housey housey' my dad worked for a fruit machine company in the 80's and he came home every weekend with brand new table top video machines for me to play and then take it back on a Monday...
Galaxian was great... on free play.

The owner let the staff buy the machines and we played them with tokens at homes!!!

You could adjust the coin mech from 10p play to 2p play.

I know my posting on here are very sparse... but going to work with my dad fixing fruits and video games in the 80's was great for me...
those were the days (yes must be getting old) when the landlord offered me a coke and crusty bread roll with cheese in and my dad half a beer cus he was working !!!!
