I'm surprised that they didn't touch upon the closing of accounts on that recent panorama programme.
When they interviewed that head of bookies and he tried giving the spin that FOBTs were legitimate entertainment I thought it would have been awesome if they said:
"What do you say to the fact that bookmakers are routinely closing the accounts and refusing bets from punters who have happened to win a few bets."
Would of been brilliant to see his answer to that.
"Oh. We don't mind people betting. As long as they lose."

From my own experience the last thing I would call "Wild Knights" is "happy" on 'install' - my biggest losses have been when I have found them on reset terminals. That is another pile of garbage, I've done £2k on 1 without a jackpot (and yes I was gambling the wins all out) when it was offering £20 profit from the very beginning and I decided to try to push it a little. When you're spending £20 for 5 spins, £2000 does not take long to go.
Please remember that this is not a re-hash of the old "Are FOBTs FIXED?" debate, its just trying to figure out how these things are working - are all games separate, all combined, units working on their own percentages or combined?
As a bonus we're telling each other horror stories.
I have had good results on Wild Knights but anyone could have good results on any slot in any place if 'luck' is on their side.
Cue the next of my new line of 'serious' debates...

Surely this is anecdotal evidence in favour of it being random, rather than compensated in any way whatsoever!Ruler of The World wrote:... I've just spent close to 2 full days chasing out a £500 KB (at a loss of £300), and during that time seen an incredible amount of money go through the likes of Thai Flower, Wild Knights and roulette. One thing I do note is that the number of small wins between the big wins and features seriously mount up. A guy playing Wild Knights on super spins was regularly seeing a £7 - £9 return from his tenner. It might do this 4 or 5 times on the trot, then it would return £0 and he's back to putting notes in. If you work out the return from his spins, its actually fairly high, but has been recycled away and feels like 100% loss. In reality, he's eroded his money away slowly but surely, which is exactly what the house edge is designed to do.
For whats it worth, I'm a firm believer that they are entirely random (or as random as random can be, lets not go there!) Simple maths sees to the huge streaks of wins and losses, and we all know how much easier it is to remember the losses.
Oh, and the KB reset to £380 if anyone wants it, although given the shop has been open for a couple of hours this morning its probably gone / been checked already.

my local corals is tiny. it has a few mega roulette punters, £50 notes in, £100 spins....kong wrote:For whats it worth, I'm a firm believer that they are entirely random (or as random as random can be, lets not go there!) they either lose big, or win big....
had £250 RR freespins off a tenner, but also had £0 from £400, no feature on anything whatsoever...
i reckon that was a day they paid out a few grand on roulette...
not everyone is gonna pull out £2,500 off the wheel the same day, but those payouts are gonna spank the slots, after all, there's only one safe holding everybody's hard earned.

logically, they won't pay more than they have in the safe. betfred round here will sometimes make you come back the next day for peanuts, but the bookies is a big business; the head office will run all kinds of profit & loss reports about which game earns them the most... they're not there to lose money.. it's not even their money ffs, it's all other peoples money, redistributed.
