You'd think people of the size of me and you would get no grief at all. But we do. I don't know where these people get their balls from, it really confuses me!

One of the truest sayings you will ever hear "never judge a book by its cover" you're bang on mate, people who wear glasses are looked upon as weak, i know some right hard c*nts who wears bins, if you start giving it the big un they will soon bring you down a peg or two,

I've played for years with my mate and untill the end of reds where we kind of stopped playing regularly we were making good money from tons of pubs all the time. Not once have we ever been accused of scamming or had the machines turned off, been barred, had one word said to us about anything. To be honest and I always am, it was a complete shock to me to hear the stories from you all about the grief you get. We're both big lads and If it's local I know most the face so there is that aspect but I would have thought given the things I've heard we would have been pulled up at least once, madness. Our bar etiquette is always spot on aswell though, always get drinks, crisps etc, tip.

few things to note,
the people who bring the heat into things probably:

buy half a coke, have a massive pocket of £1's, show zero emotion to a win or a loss, arent regulars, win loads and dont even acknoledge anyone else in the room, seem genuinely suspicious by not drinking their drink, show their face around the room 'looking for a mate' who doesnt exist...and many other non-social pointers

these people make others who would normally not be noticed stick out.

it would be very bad business practice to allow anyone who won reguarly and never puts the money across the bar to continue..

yeah , silent and me just walked in ,,,,having never been in the pub ever,,,,,,, bought 2 soft drinks , thats all the clue she needed ,,,,,,,,,,,, obviously a victim of many a visit from players.

there's an argument that you could buy two buds, pour em down toilet , refill with water etc , but thats just not practical in every pub .

some pubs , you could wear a suit , with the mrs , buy two steak dinners ,,,,,,, deserts etc ,,, casually walk over to the machine , let the mrs play it , act all surprised when you pot it , buy the landlord a celebratery drink ,,,,,,,,,,,,,, and still be asked to not come back ffs

ok im being a bit silly granted but,,,,,

landlord awareness is at an unbelievable high ,,,,,,,,,,, and an increase in jp can only make it worse.
Little discipline = BIG issue

So true though Tray. I often do that 'I wonder what will happen if I...' line when I blatantly know and some over-interested landlord is watching.

I've gotten away with it a few times, but sometimes it just doesn't wash. Got threatened with a pool cue once after £105-ing a Warped. Because I 'rejoiced' when it went over the £70, the guy come over and said that I must be scamming it as I 'knew' I was getting the £105.

Had pal-backup, and got away without any further incident and the full wedge, but still.

I personally feel that there is NOTHING that you can do to avoid getting barred from certain locations.

I have a stakes and prizes that I have to myself, I order food, talk to the staff, and still the guy sits next door to me whilst I'm on it yesterday. I hit wild thing in front of his face and he is screwing. Says I'm ruining his machine take, and is in liason with Ivor Thomas about the machine. Which is interesting as I'm sure they were well aware of the machine's limitations before it was sited.

Some people are just too money obsessed not to have an issue with someone taking £70+ out of their fruit machine. They don't, however, usually notice the money going in. It's a very one sided relationship.

What really gets my goat is the chain pubs. Why do they give a fuck? Apart from jealousy, I suppose. As we have discussed, 2 for 1 pubs, and also wetherspoons have definitely had some sort of meeting about players and to try and get rid of them. I don't understand why chain pubs have an issue. A free house, maybe. Taking out a big win immediately before a collection could cause problems, I suppose.

As for me, I don't really care any more. I'll draw the line at some places but for the rest, I'll just do them relentlessly until I'm barred. If you want to blame someone for that, it's the machine companies. If they sited enough playables and less noels/tioli's/bank jobs etc then I wouldn't have to. Furthermore I have concrete evidence that they are telling sites to bar me (Ivor Thomas there). You would think that it's crazy that pubs take the advice of other companies to bar someone, but there you go.

If anyone accuses me of fraud, I'm going to accuse them of being a paedophile. Because one groundless accusation deserves another.

If anyone tries to quietly come over to me and bar me (hence without the rest of the pub noticing), I'm going to shout 'How many times do I have to tell you, I'm not gay!' at the top of my voice.

Fed up with it all, and now I'm going to fight fire with fire.
Bored of the grind.
