i used to LOVE these on £35 jp, if oering over £5 force it for a wild skill or number runner or top feature, allways paid off.
had a few £60 tops off £20 in max.
now theyre unforceable only rippable.

Personally I never really liked this, the profile was too flat and you could get round the end and only get 4 quid. Coming after Jewel in the Crown I was expecting an all-out force profile where you could get 40 quid token repeats. How wrong I was.
Italian Job 2 - Maygay
Yes we all knew the score with these but if you strip all of the flavours out you have to agree that you are left with an absolutely dire game. One move boards, superholds with fuck all there, even the Michael Caine voices weren't real. And the superboard starts that kicked you straight out I believe was an industry first, so hats off to Maygay for that dubious achievement.
The Jackpot is not Enough - Empire Games
An absolute abortion of a machine]
Italian Job 2 gave 1 move boards because they were being emptied. If they were ready then they didn't play like that. Unless you had the jackpot. melon, red 7 setup which would then kick you out of the super board first move.

Full metal Jackpot ??playwithrob wrote:its a QPS one, an army theme one, with annoying music, clone of Suits You Sir.
2 machines stick in my head for sheer boredom and non profit.
Extreme Double dragon -
Constant boards that progressed very slowly blocking at certain levels along the way, no way of trapping it at all. Even though it tried to give the impression you could.
Hi/lo Karate - Worst £25 machine I've ever played. Never got a streak, never got a cheap pot.

£5JP Fruit Explosion was a good'en.HornyNick wrote:FRuit Explosion? The old Maygay? Yeah, absolute shit.
Open The Box was always pretty good to me but I only had it in two locations and then it was more the locations themselves that were good than the machines.
My worst old machine is easily Barcrests Top Tenner. So boring and tight as fuck as well. Although its probably the only Barcrest between the £6-£15 era that I can say I don't like.
Of the new machines its got to be Rob Da Bank and clones (inc. Star Wars). Just plain crap all over!
Well, the feature Melon Madness (only about the 4th one along) could go huge!!!
I can't believe people are moaning about Fruit Explosion. Here's my worst game list
2) Reel Bingo (latest chip) shit for player and granny alike.

Different Barmy Army I think mate, You're on about the barcrest one I think? I'm on about a really odd old BGT one.
@playwithrob-Yeah, there was a joker themed one called Super Suits. Was a clone of many Barcrests(Jewel in the Crown etc) with a different winplan. I think Barmy Army had some suttle differences, but they were both quite crap!
I got a board off Super Suits, however.
That reminds me, another awful game on £5 is Gold Rush Stampede triple player.
Holds everything for you so you don't get multiple button bashing, and the win never comes in.
Costs too too much for a win.
Rarely goes up
Predictable
Streak isn't as good as Golden Game £5s, so just avoid this one!

The reason they gave one move boards was down to the disgusting 'losing game count' control mechanism Maygay used at the time, which as far as I'm concerned was illegal and they should have been pulled up over it.logopolis wrote:Mystery_Plum wrote:Las Vegas Strip - Barcrest

Even before they were being done you could get one move boards. You still see them now on chipped ones, the Cat D 10p £5 ones do it and believe it or not when they first came out in 2001 (on £15 jackpot I might add) you could get them.
