from time to time i am in the privledged position of being handed the task of destroying a fruit or two,i've never burnt one though,may give it a go next time 
,my favourite way is the trusty sledgehammer ,i used to remove the glass first ,but am now able to stove one in (sometimes) leaving the glass intact.last year i was given a spotted dick to smash up,and what a joy to dispose of too!remembering all the times these had died on their arses when stacking upto jp .it had perspex in it too, so it got it maniac style.
