Refil keys and the law
Refil keys and the law
Whats the situation now as i presumed they were legal as you are not altering any game play and you cannot access and coins / notes in the machine using the key. I have used the logic that in any form of gambling you have a right to know the odds / probability of the outcome for example horses in the bookies have their odds displayed so using your key would in a sense determine if the machine was likely to be a "dead cert" or a "500/1 shot" due to the fact you are playing blind if you do not know the amount of money in a machine as its possible the machine may not have enough coins in to pay the prizes stated (they do I.O.U but you cant have your winnings there and then in alot of places) so in theory you you cant physically win at the point in whats advertised and have all the money in your possesion. Club machines have a "warning insufficient funds to pay major prizes" so at least your warned if its dead but i suppose that could be as the potential loss is much greater than an AWP. Any way in a nutshell you should be allowed to know the value of the money in the machine as its not fair if you are playing something you have practically no chnace of winning on as good players will know the signs but poorer players will just punt and punt

Yep, true enough.e4ans wrote:My mate runs a pub used to ask me to borrow it as he has the logic of well i dont see a penny of what goes in the bandits so i couldnt care less what people take out of them. They dont have them now like quite a few pubs in the town
The fact is there is no way I am going into a pub and feeding a quid into Noel's smug face, in exchange for 2 spins and bugger all else!

"Amusement With Prizes"? Not any more!
Machines are so bad atm that very few people are playing them, was in a pub on Saturday for about 7 hours drinking, watching tv, playing pool/darts and not one person in that time touched the fruitie.
Had a lot of similar situations on other nights out, can't really blame people as you can either buy a couple of pints or stick a fiver into a DOND for 30 seconds of "fun" for a guaranteed lose feature board if it gives it.
If any of the fruit manufacturers are reading this, ffs go back to £25 jpots, 30p max stake and at least give boards for a fiver or less even if they are going to kill you, bring some playability back to the machines... (i think the boss of bell friuit allegedly posted in a thread a while ago to do with DOND WIYB, hopefully one of the spies can read and do something about the flood of crap being released...)
Rant over, now i feel better...

Don't even get me started!
Crap machines, boring clones, massive jackpots that the average punter just won't get.
Would I play machines in the wild on a lower stake? Say 10p a spin?
Yes, I would. And I wouldn't be so p1$$ed of if I lost a few quid.
Would I go on "fun" machines that played more like the old MPU3 etc?
Definitely!
Sounds like I've picked the worst time ever to start playing machines... think I need to knock it on the head then. End of the day, it's all about profit profit profit with these companies. Fuck giving people a good time, take their money then hoof them out into the street. People need to learn to address the balance between business for profit, and providing a service - there's room for both.
