Fairly limited in travel really - I just play my locals because ultimately it's just for fun with me, but when I say up, I generally mean a few quid and the occasional jackpot; definitely not a lot though. Plus I have no understanding of the technical side of things, the history of the relevant chips etc, I just know certain ones to avoid in the area really.

Crazy Chair wouldn't be on anyone here's favourite list that's for sure! Bloody thing, got the most rigged DOND game of all the DONDs. Plus box reads are hard as they've got more wise to it.

Yeah it's a nightmare - I never usually play it as it just slurps up my money then boots me out, but I was feeling smug after doubling my money this morning in spoons so I played the fiver and got rather lucky. Needless to say, I walked! It's a shite setup in that pub - 2 machines, Cluedo and CC and that's it. Ah well happy days.

I feel inclined to agree. Apart from the (now widely known) method, If it's not in stupidly-just-been-done-two-features-up mode then it can provide reasonable value for your average punter too.

I must have caught it on a bad day then - assuming there's just the one type of cluedo machine, I tend to find it screws me a lot on 11 and 2 gambles, but it could have been cold the times I played.

I've had a good day to be fair - MS'd DOND CC, Doubled from £20 to £40 on Little Devil, MS'd Monopoly road to Riches (though only for £50 today which was a bit lame as I've had a £75 off it before) and I'm £60 up overall. I shouldn't have spent my day off on the bandits, but I quite enjoyed myself

and now off to work! If anyone wants to be really sound and message me this method for cluedo (poor joonyer is only 3 months in, take pity and such) then it would be greatly appreciated - if you'd rather I worked it out for myself then fair enough, but it can't hurt to ask ;)

Regards

Joonyer, you have to be sensible and disciplined mate but if you're as intelligent as you say you are, that shouldn't be too difficult.

It also depends on how cocky, arrogant, self conceited and smug you are. Would you be happy taking a £19 win if you are only £5 in? Or would you rather carry on and go for the JP even though its not your favourite machine, which could in hindsight cost you a fair bit?

These days if you don't know whats gone into a machine, refill day, how it plays or an emptier, then a £14 profit is good enough for me. 6 or 7 of those then a JP/MS all add up, too many people HAVE to win a JP on every machine they play, no matter what. Granted, they win a good amount of money (I like to see the best in people), but they also take very big hits too. Its a case of 'Hey everyone, look at me I've just won the Jackpot but it cost me £34!' or 'Get in! A £105 top and only £97 in.'

As people have said though, you are coming into this game way too late - too many sharks, high cost for boards, and an awful selection of machines. Pubs closing at an alarming rate, pubs getting rid of m/c's or at least halving their amount of, arcades are dead and for me the BIGGEST loss of income has to be AWP's swapped for FOBT's in Bookmakers.

I hope you aren't too greedy and you make a steady bit of extra money, but I do look forward to reading 'Why did x cost £200+ to give me a a flat MS?'

you seem like a decent sensible sort , but sadly this wont be enough, times are indeed a changing as explaind by others above , and because things are getting harder everyday the sad fact is unless youve been a part of the scene for years and/or have good contacts you dont stand a chance in the long term ,,,,, im in no way being insulting to you but thats the harsh reality, plus less and less good machines out there for the rest of us means your far less likely to receive good info off anybody through fear of cutting ones own throat , (stands to reason really , less machines means less to go round)

as much as we all often state that we wish everyone could win on fruitys, were really all fibbing because in reality we need general joe to lose in order to provide our wages.

you can of course go through this site and many others with a fine tooth comb and pick up little titbits , but the real info on this site and indead ANY WEBSITE will always be excluded or long since dead.

there are of course some long termers on here that know everything but are skint due to bad dissapline throughout , and im sure some of the more dubious ones would be only to willing to 'clue you up' for a fee of course , perhaps a short training thingy like a yts lol
but then you have to think to yourself , if they need the money your offering , then they cant be doing very well with there work ethic and methods can they? and you could end up far worse off and seriously out of pocket.

the best advice has already been given further up the page
stay off em , without the required knowledge/dissapline/skillset/experiance
then longterm you will lose ,,,,,,,,, badly

were not telling you this for fear of competition , all the info in the world can only take you so far , theres also a feel to em , which can only be obtained through long years and 1000s of man hours of experiance

i wish you well,,,,,,,, in another line of work
Little discipline = BIG issue

Joonyer, best of luck with the fruit machines. There is a good poker saying that goes along the lines of "I'd rather be extremely lucky than extremely skillful", sometimes this applies to fruits.

Enjoy it, just play a few bob at a time and don't for Heaven's sake take it too seriously. Things are looking a bit sick at the moment due to people's spending patterns and the diversity of gambling opportunities on the high street.

What more can I say? Good luck.

joonyer youve heard it from some of the best guys in the business(obviously not the top, top, top boys cause they iz bizzy fiddly diddling) ,now here it from me  play by all means ,i'm not going to put you off .you say you got your limits sorted and can afford to have a crack ,simply watch and wait mate ,you don't have to be my sworn enemy"superman" to make a few quid on the side, however for me to advocate that you should ,in this day and age ,consider that a more serious approach to playing could be beneficial to you, would be sheer folly.
however dont be put off posting on this site coz you seem like an o.k geezer and i think others would agree.

I have to say Joonyer, it's nice to read a coherent post on here.

I'm very much in the same boat as you - although a few years older, and not overly new to Fruit Machines - I have the same things going through my mind.

I have played Fruit Machines for over 8 years, but more as a thing to do whilst whilst having a few beers. It's nice that I have caught some buzzing, but I can safely say it's no where near as many as I have had to plow.

I don't know why - but as ma71lda explained - I fall in to the category of playing it until it's jackpotted. I went on 'Take Your Pick' and from £5 in, I got an offer of £20. Thinking it's ready to go a little mental, I proceeded to put £35 in for a £40 return. I think this is something I'm taking on board and need to take the small, more profitable wins, rather than being drawn to the flashing lights.

Like you, I stick to local pubs - I don't go to Arcades, seasides, service's or anything of that ilk and just hope to land on it nicely, unlike you though, if I lose £20 I want to recoup it - but it sometimes never works out that way, so that's something I am also learning.

As for refill keys, I've never had one. And in terms of stakes, I stick to 30p, thinking i'm getting more for my buck. However, I am also playing 'Can U Dig It' recently and that is 50p full stop which I don't seem to mind forking out.

All the best mate, enjoy it and take the rough with smooth.
