Some [potentially] stupid questions from a beginner
Some [potentially] stupid questions from a beginner
Hi again folks, gents, and chavs alike.
Been playing the bandits for about 3 months now (I'm 22 and never touched one until the mrs got me into them, bitch) and I'd probably consider myself better than your average player - by this I mean I understand how they work and why, when to force a machine, when it's worth playing on etc, over your standard "lol if I put a pound in will I win some monies?" type of person.
However there's a few things I don't quite get. I'm not after LOL WUT R THE EMPTIERS and HOW CAN I JP EVERY MACHINE IN THE UK but I'm curious:
Does playing 30p spins instead of 50p spins impact the gameplay in any other way than the features/repeaters? What I mean is, does playing 50p make me more likely to get on the board on say, DOND Deal Wheel? (it counts X-X-X and XxXxX anyway, but 50p makes everything red) Disregard this for machines that count all numbers for 50p etc, I understand that bit. Is it more likely to JP if I've been playing 50p spins? I suppose it would as it's gona fill faster, but I just wondered if it sort of "punishes" you for playing smaller spins. I've always played 50 as it's how I started out, but I see a fair few people spinning 30s.
Also, I was wondering if there's anything in the idea of "confusing" the programming in the machines. Yes, I read THAT book online in my naivity thinking it might help me as a new player, but no, it was shite. But the confusion part made slight sense if it's set on a particular path and you disrupt that path... so nudging in the one it doesn't expect you to etc? I have a strong feeling this is BS, but I had to ask.
Clearly there's things people are understanding that I'm not, but I do find these things quite interesting. At the end of the day, there's a system in place, and systems can be beaten one way or another, generally with logic (or a shedload of money).
Basically I like to think I'm a fairly intelligent person (not bigging myself up, but I'm no moron - then again if I was that intelligent I wouldn't have chased my losses on cluedo last week, sober, and left feeling mortified after 3hrs) but I can't for the life of me work out the logic, beyond forcing (which makes sense). Though with forcing I'm not quite sure how quickly the % is affected by filling up the bank, but that's something I'm getting to know.
I really really wish I'd never learned to play these bastard things, but they can be so much fun - I've never had an addictive personality. I gave up alcohol for a year without problem, I quit smoking one day 2yrs ago without even trying and never touched another, I quit weed in a similar manner, and a number of other drugs and bad habits, but when it comes to bandits, I'm just too sucked in by the promises of features, flashing lights, stupid noises, and the occasional successful repeater.
I know they're biased. I know it's not a game of chance. I know the whole "skill" issue is incredibly ironic, but it's just so much damn fun getting on that board.
Don't burn me too much, I'm just interested.
Cheers,
/J

I thought keys just tell you how much it needs putting in? Surely that's no use. I refill the one at work every night and the key just tells me what I need to put in it. Doesn't mean it's about to drop if it says "0" because if it's just been refilled it tends to want more before you get much joy doesnt it?
Anyway different machines need different amounts surely. Plus I don't want to be picked up for having a key, I've got too much at stake to be having court cases thrown at me.
@Red: taste my lush salty balls.

Ah but I wasn't addicted to drugs - I took little fellas at raves, I smoked weed because I enjoyed it, and I've never got myself into financial difficulties over any of them! These days I have the occasional pint, a spliff on special occasions, and throw £20 here n there into a fruity. I appreciate your concern but I'm doin ok
Plus I earn a fair bit!

Hi there,
As was VERY predicatable, you seem to have got the standard selection of completely useless answers.
To be honest it's an awful time to start playing, there's more players about than ever before and (general opinion is that) machines are getting less and less playable.
In answer to your 30p/50p question, it varies from machine to machine. Some will give you an increased % payout (usually +6%) but most will just offer you a repeat on a cash win and an improved feature. Obviously, if you're forcing, you may as well play on 50p and it gets the money in quicker.
"Confusing" the program is basically bollocks. Machines are very smart and are generally unlikely to let you have anything they don't want to give (hence 2 to 1's on gambles to certain features etc). The only exceptions to this rule are 1 or 2 features which can be obtained using certain methods (manipulating no-lose gambles, learning to hit fast skills, learning when you can safely hi-lo....etc). These are what the majority of todays methods are based on.
Intelligence is a great asset when playing as is logic and the ability to learn (normally learning to "not play this again"). There are some shrewd players out there who can work out and perfect methods very quickly, on the other hand, I now people who have been playing for years and still lose money time after time.
Finally, keys are pretty much useless nowadays with most pubs doing daily refills. Plus, you only need to look around the forum to see many examples of the trouble people get if they're caught with them so, in my opinion, not worth it.
I hope this is some help. Sorry I haven't been more specific with regards to methods etc but i'm sure you can get some of the information by simply searching this forum.
Good luck but be sensible.

was just kidding mate .
anyway my uncles best mate is head of security at games tech and according to him refil keys were not illegal until recently, but they have found an age old law called " Cheating at play " dating from the 1800s " which involved 2 men playing cards apparently , anyway as it stands i will always use a refil key because basically i dont care, noones ever gonna get 5 years for it surely .
another method is " taking the meter readings " sure this has been explained before but if your keeping on top of a machine daily or every 2 days for example( refil everyday ones spoons etc ) .then if the meter reading says 21000 and if and when they refil the bandit ,for every £1 put in ,the meter increases by 10 so if it needed £30 quid the day after the new reading would be 21300 , you can do the maths from there see if its worth playing trying a few boards whatever . doesnt always work as some say 0 forever ( no idea why sure someone can tell me ) if you can get arrested for that then ill quit ang go back to work !!
i agree with the above post , bad time to get into it anyway , im struggling worse than ever, used to be happy with £100 a day now im happy with £70 , apart from the odd freak £380 day like on friday but there getting rarer .
anyway good luck you will need it.

Fair enough - I think that's the best answer! Cheers for the decent bits of advice, and for the cockend bits of advice the relevant people can get fucked. Seriously there's no point being a prick when people ask perfectly sensible questions on a board that is meant to be full of seasoned and experienced players. Keep your abuse for the people asking for emptiers and infra red buttons.
Incidentally, I MS'd DOND CC about half hour ago - was a nice surprise really as it's usually a total wanker. Stuck a fiver in it as I was in the mood for a spin. Got on the board then onto main game after 5mins or so, ended up with £35, £35, MS, and a couple of blues, then down to £35 and MS, offer was £35, refused it, rolled out about £60. Not great but not too bad.
Had a spin on Little Devil and Monopoly Road to Riches too but came out even both times with £30 in and out respectively, but no time to work on them today.
As for my income, I have 2 jobs, but we won't go into that.
Cheers again, will just keep my focus on playing as I do now, as I'm generally up. This "rabbit hole" is never deeper than £20, because if there's nothing doing after 20, I walk, unless it's blatantly worth playing on. It's rare that I walk away down. I'm not trying to make a career out of it, I was just trying to see if there's any obvious tips to note when I do have a quick spin.
So yeah, thanks to the adults among you anyway.

*edit* @Alcozar: anti forcing? I didn't know there was any - will search and have a read, cheers for that.

to be fair, no-one's abused you at all. Your original post makes you seem a bit cocky, but you are young so it's to be expected.
After 3 months of anything you're unlikely to be better than the pack.
I'm certainly not claiming to be an advanced played, but there are some skills that I've been practicing longer than you've been breathing.

Apologies if I seemed cocky - I don't consider myself a good player at all, I just meant I know the basics above the random guy who throws £3 in to see if he wins the jackpot. I was just trying to say that I know some very basics facts of how they work so you didn't think I was totally retarded. Again, sorry for that, hard to convey tone through text and obviously I didn't do very well
