For Fun Or Profit
For Fun Or Profit
Morning all,
Was just wondering whether you would say you play fruities for enjoyment & the thrill that you might win, or whether you play them solely for the money making (if you manage to make any).
For me I just love playing the things - I recently found a 5p play £25 Jackpot something or other, which I wasnt expecting to pay jackpot or drop virtually anything at that stake, but I had nearly two hours to wait with nothing to do and I had a cracking time playing on this machine, working out its different features, picking up any of its traits etc, and all for the princely sum of about £3 by the time I had finished!
The chance and excitement of winning money plays a part and adds to the excitement - but I'd rather play a machine at 5p or 10p play, even with a low jackpot, and enjoy playing it, rather than paying 30p a spin because I want to win big.
Any thoughts?
Cheers
Sam

Bit of a job to play for fun these days, even some 10p machines will take your money quick if you don't know what you're doing. Gotta love those fun sec16 machines
I love going out and playing fruities though, off out in 30 mins for the day. Sticking to machines I know.
On the other hand, take me back to 1990 and it was purely for fun, didn't matter if you win, lose or draw. You could have a good day out with £10 no problems

I would probably say I play for fun (in terms of games of gameplay) so I basically play the older barcrests at 10p/£5 cash beast, dracula, battleaze etc. The part of winning and losing is part of the package of playing for fun so I suppose a liitle bit of me likes to make a profit. I mean although I say I like playing fruities for fun, you dont get the same excitement playing an emulater or your own fruity where no money is involved so I dont know.
Fully agree 10/£5 machines can eat your cash just play a dead Revolution or championship soccer/super league and clones and you suddenly wonder where that £10 you thought would get you a bit of fun and amusement has gone.

Fair play matt it seems like your having a great week in terms of profit.Mattb wrote:Definitely to win, there certainly isn't any real fun on any £25 machines i know of. Seeing as at the moment i can't seem to be able to lose (£300+ up this week!) then i guess i am having fun......but only as a result of winning.
Matt
Got to say that it is past the point of playing for fun when you have been playing for a while, it is purely for profit nowadays. The fun comes as a few people have said, when you return with a healthy profit.

Averaging over £250 per week now (after drinks). Fractionally above my full-time job (net).
Made £24,000, don't deny is a way to unwind but 20 hours a week does get tiring and then there's the girlfriend too...
She's pretty good with me disappearing for 3 hours saturday and sunday but christ, she can whinge too. Think she forgets she hasn't had to save for a house because of this.
