METERS

Post by stewy »

Could someone please explain to me a little bit about how meters on machines work. I am not sure what these are used for although I understand it is something to do with COINS IN. I am talking about the digital LCD meter at the top of the machine glass.

Also is there any way to reset this?

That meter just displays the amount of coins that have been manually re-filled into the machine, using a refill key. The number is usually low, as refills are normally done inside the machine.

If it's a high number inthe tens of thousands it's refilled daily by the manager, if it's only 10 or 20 it's done by the engineer on collection day, usually weekly.

If it looks like this, then its a SEC meter which replaces all the machines mechanical meters. All cash in/out refills are read on this single non reset LCD meter situated in the top of the machine.

depending on the machione they normally go up in 10p units (ie 10 times for every £) or on the random spinners ect they were £1 units.

cant be rerset, but no point as there only about £15 to replace
