How many of you have noticed a HUGE increase in 70% payout machines in the last week or two after the DOND fiasco?

I've seen a couple of DOND's set on 70% when they all used to be 80 or 82%. Also seen quite a few machines that have had +6% on then but the standard % is 6% lower than the other machines in their.

How much you rekon they actually make? Isnt there a way people can see the earnings of any company?

5 million per year? more/less.

leisurelink make vastly more than that. The amount of money that they get just from the gala contract is huge. Unless it's a publicly traded company, you won't find out how much they make.

Only listed companies and LLP's.

I half looked at costs associated with starting up a small sized arcade about a year ago. Decided I was too busy to give it the commitment it required.

Alot of the problem with starting up an arcade is that you need a decent location. Councils are very reluctant to grant any new gaming licenses to premises in town centre areas, so generally the only way you get hold of one is by taking over the lease on a failed arcade, or buying one out.

This can be very council dependent. In a church council place like Winchester, forget it.

Agreed, with both regards to council approval and location. Location considered was Chepstow.

There is also the moral burden of seeing people who can't afford to lose money doing their nut's in your establishment.

I personally think youd get leaned on by the local G's dishing out threats.

Some fella i know was going to start up his own food van thing he got threatend that his legs would be broke if he did!

Another fella started an ice cream van round, that got torched after a few weeks!

Gota be carefull! Especially with the fruits its not just the local council that take an interest.
