I saw one of these in a pub in London - and the prizes inside it were really good: None of those wiggly plastic snakes or pretend spiders you win at the funfair - oh no! The prizes were ipods, mobile phones, a £50 note ....

If I remember rightly, there was an arrow flying around a wheel stopping on 'UP 2' or 'DOWN 1' etc - and you had to get to level 5 to win a prize, which you pick by skill selecting a corresponding light.

It was a pound a go so presumably to win such valuable prizes would require a LOT of money through the machine.

There's also a version you see in places like Funland and Namcoworld (or whatever it's called) where you have to skill stop a rotating light to win the highest possible number of 'tickets' - Jackpot was very possible on these and it usually resulted in 200 tickets spilling out. You then took your 45,000 tickets to the Prize Counter and exchanged them for your plastic wiggly snake :)
This machine may at times offer a choice where the player has every chance of bankruptcy

Heh, I had a couple of goes on one of these once, it is as fixed as fudgery. However brilliant you are at skill stops, if it doesn't want you to win the prize, it'll jump off the light you intend to hit.

Like all fairground games - a fiddle! ;)

Speaking of Rigged Games once spent £20+ to get a stupid teddy bear out of one of those grabber machines becuase the Misses said "I want that one " Could have bought her ten for amount of money I chucked into it.

But she was happy
