What is the best way to get an IOU.

I was on aday out and emptied to reds for very little, and was about 140 up. Later on in the day i nipped in for a last drink and played the deal or no deal which to my amazement went for 120 off about 40.

When collecting tho, it ran out of pound coins and i had 45 left to pay . . . . The people behind the bar took my number and supposed to call me back. However this was 2 weeks ago ?

The next day all 3 machines were replaced !!!

How is the best way to actually get your money . . . . ?

The best way to get an IOU is to constantly use notes and collect.

Ok bad jokes aside, ask for THEIR name and number too or even a slip with 'IOU' and a signature on it. Take a photo/video with your phone.

Smash the machine with a hammer discereetly when the pub is busy.This is particualarly effective on Jekyll and Hydes and Deal or No deals.

machine should be replaced hopefully

Thats what I thought he was on about for a minute.

Best thing is to keep on at them, had the same experiance a few months back, went back in and the machine had gone and so had the woman that I spoke to and kept getting the "managers not in today" crap. I kept on at them and eventually got my money.

Oak is right, next time get some evidence, photo, managers signature etc. then they can't argue then.

Always handy 2 get the m/c company name and phone no.
(usually on the bottom or side of m/c)
just incase the gaffer tries 2 pocket it....
Cos if they paid him, he aint got a leg 2
stand on if u know the companies paid out...
