Job Advert - Fruit Machine Tester Wanted

Post by splurgle »

Fruit Machine Tester wanted.

If you fancy the idea of playing fruit machines and various gambling games as a job then this may be for you.

We are a software company which supplies fruit machine style and other gambling games and need a tester to test those games on a full time basis. You need to have a good understanding of at least Pub and/or Club fruit machines and any experience of playing FOBT games or other online games would give you an edge.

We are based in central London and this position is based full time in our offices.

Salary is negotiable dependant on experience.

Please send a CV with a covering letter as to why you would be suitable to fruittester@ashgaming.com.

Heh. As soon as people find out what I do for a living, about half of them (particularly those under the age of 16) immediately ask "Have you got any testing jobs going?"

I ask them why they want such a job, and usually the answer boils down to:

"Because you get to play games all day!"

"No," I tell them, "You get to play a game. A single game. Probably the same bit of a single game, all day, every day, for eighteen months. And the game is usually crap, as well."

Its negotiable! Send me a CV and how much you want. And why you'd be good. We multi line slots, games like Darts and Virtual Dogs, and some other stuff closer to pub machines.

what do you expect? £50K to play machines?

This job could easily be inundated by applicants if offering just the minimim wage. There are plenty of people who play machines on the minimum wage.

Yeah, as I said, this job coul sell itself. I guess they are just hoping to get lucky and find someone over-qualified, willing to do it for basic pay.

I personally WOULDNT! go looking on a gambling forum for a candidate though; people who play the machines are surely more of a liability to find out a fault and keep it to themselves!
