better players
better players
Has anybody else noticed that the better players arent the ones discussing stupid topics and old bandits on the 'net, but the ones who keep in contact via mobile etc? This may be because, and this is serious that they can't use a computer, don't have kids who use a computer or simply don't want one.
All the decent players i know dont use the internet as a means of discussion.
Most posters on here like to think they are "in the know," but when you ask for people who they know, and this includes people they really should see in their own towns etc, they never know anybody??
im only 22, but i know players from all over the country who i speak to regularly, and are prepared to share info immediately without asking for anything back because they expect the same from me.is anybody on here in the same boat as me so to speak and where are you from?
does anybody agree/disagree with me or have any views on this?

I'm a regular poster on stupid topics and old bandits. I certainly wouldn't discuss anything sensitive on a public messageboard. But I certainly wouldn't shun the internet as a means of exchanging information with other players.
I'm sure there is a perception amongst "players", especially old-school players, that the internet has sounded the death knell for fruities, cos all of a sudden every Dom, Dick and Sally knows most of the tricks that they wanted to keep to themselves. Whilst I'm sure this is true, it would be foolish not to use the internet to converse with other players, especially on a 1-1 basis.

i don't think i've become a worse player just because i've started using the internet
i've consistently made money over the 10 years i have been slotting and has that stopped in the 2 months i've been using the net err no.
whats the harm in sharing stories, experiences and the occasional tip as said above most of our paths will never cross.

I think due to the internet people as players have improved, as it's far easier to get information that would otherwise be unobtainable, i doubt the extreme stuff would be widespread if it wasn't for the internet, hell i know i sure as hell wouldn't have it.
The people that lose out are the players that pay for tricks, then someone mouths off on SA, every man and his dog is doing it (LS anyone.)
But for the other 90% of players the internet is a positive thing IMO, it's just the hardcore that lose out, and it's the 10% of "Better Players" that are keeping their heads down hoping no one says anything stupid and incriminating.

Re: better players
i know a couple of people who have never used the internet for anything fruity related whatsoever
one of them taught me king kebab and one of them has been playing in my area for as far back as i can remember,
but he only comes into town if there is something big going on,
everyone saw him playing the money laundery in the local a couple of years back, so we knew there was something on that.....
i could name names but theres not a great deal of point, although if you are connected offline as you make out, you will probably know both of them.. but we live in our little e-world further down the food chain, begging and rummaging for scraps! makes ya feel wanted huh!?

super arcadia was one of the original sites, and was one of the first, along with morris's and cma... you cauld log on there and find sensitive info yeara ago.. but simply no-one looked for it, it was before they encouraged anyone 24/25 years old now to use the internet then, pre broadband and pre free isp....

Time
Generally older players use phones and younger ones the internet, obviously there exceptions to this very general rule.
Going forward though, I think that it will not matter where you are obtaining information from it will become increasingly scarce. The recent extreme situation and the increasing amount of indiscrete/scruffy/aggressive types taking up playing has alerted bar owners on an unprecedented scale to the fact that some machines can be played for money. Any bar owner is essentially a businessman and for obvious reasons it's not good to have people coming in not buying drinks and sharking normal punters. This in turn affects sales (visible increase in globals and other "non playables") and manufacturers have to be aware when producing new machines not to put these faults (most of them intentional) into the programme.
I think that in the next three years play will take a significant downturn and if playing fruit machines is your only source of revenue there are bleak times ahead.
I have no doubt that others may feel different please feel free to comment

Always carry a flagon of whiskey in case of snakebite and furthermore always carry a small snake. WC FIELDS (1880-1946)
Re: Time
I would have to agree, if i owned a pub and a couple of people came in twice a week to drink coke and empty to bandits, i would be unhappy aswell. Too many bandits at the moment have tricks / potential MTR's, this is gambling, and naturally gambling should contain the element of risk, without risk it is a joke.milk monitor wrote:Generally older players use phones and younger ones the internet, obviously there exceptions to this very general rule.

although all the points made are relevent, this was discussed three years ago, and three years before that,
the end is nigh was shouted when king kebab and jackpoteers were chipped and before that when jpms stopped numbering, when whatever was mended before that was mended
no matter what happens, fruit machines will be in pubs till they are banned by law, at the end of the day, if some one is ripping off a machine, the usualy loss to the owner/site is minimal, they dont take as much if we empty them and leave enough in to get topped up again, but if they are totally emptied then the iou comes, they realise eventually and remove the machine
its just like pubs displaying bottles of crystal champagne, they never make any money from it, but they leave it on the shelf just incase the day comes
if the law changes then the machines will go, people will stop playing them because they arent there, i dont see anything else affecting the way they are operated
thed programmers and the companys making the machines probably dont care to a certain point what tripe they are pushing to the end market user, they just work one payday to the next like the rest of us
a product recall from a fruity manu is jsut like that with a car or a computer, or a microwave or a childs cuddly toy, if its not suitable and can be of a risk, they will assess the risk, and either recall or just amend the design and carry on making them.
its just a product

With the Extreme trick anyway I tend to always find them on, or not far from, the drop. They're so sick when they're getting done all the time they take quite a bit over the back I'd imagine. And as for players ruining the industry, aren't Reds the biggest cashbox earners? Everyone on here loves Reds. I think this 50p spin/£35JP will do more damage for average punters than being able to manipulate a machine for some profit. Obviously full blown emptiers are a different kettle of fish. But as Spyder said; it's a product, they'll only change them if they stop making money.
Bloody hell Spyder now your going back a bit, morris's site was soo busy about 5/6 years ago as was CMA.......dont think they exist as such any more although i still see those same old ferry pics from cma all over the place.....made is look soo easy (well it was the original cop's n robbers days of course)super arcadia was one of the original sites, and was one of the first, along with morris's and cma...
