Is it me or do the new ones not go in any mech???!!

Have they released a slightly different coin or something?

new 5p and 10p wont work as different metal content.its worse with parking meters as you end up having to pot excess in as a lot wont take small change

they can't be arsed to go round sites with a mech reprogrammer to sort them all out , would have been done a piece of piss if the pounds changed though

I've known machines to take those shiny new 10's and give 50p credit.

regarding the old/new 10p's ,,,,,,,,,,, one picks up with a magnet , one doesn't , defo dif compound

The mech's just need reprogramming. A company I used to work for charged like £10-£15 to do it per mech. Some places did it/will do it and others won't bother.

Any coin/token can be programmed in on the majority of mechs afaik.

Used to wrap surgical tape round 10ps and the machines thought they were 50s.
Roulette free since December 2011.

even worse when they bring out new notes every few years,costs a fortune to prog every validator,and its not just fruit machines you also have vending machines etc

used to file old 5 ps round the 20 p template when i was a kid to play the video machines! double dragon, gauntlet etc!

I have a phil the power taylor barcrest machine, which has the same issue. what would I need to use to reprogramme the machine? is there a manual available anywhere?

The old old 10p the size of a cartwheel used to work on machines where the mech had not been updated... Could never find a good supply of them though and once the cash box was loaded after taking the hopper it was the case you only got one hit per machine/arcade
