strimming
what is strimming? i was under the impression it was where to tie string or whatever to a coin and dunk it in over and over? or is it the old word for tooling?
More than one meaning. You used to be able to bend strimmer wire into a shape whereby you could simulate putting a coin in the 10p slots. The mechanisms were primitive metal mechanical affairs and quite basic. With the introduction of the modern plastic multi coin Mars Electronic mechs which came out in about 1983 this was now impossible.
There was also coins connected to wire which could be put in a slot and then retrieved (I think).
