So whats happened in a year?

Post by autonudge »

Some of you might remember that I came to New Zealand last year. Well i've been here for almost a year now and loving it. Just wondered what happened in the UK. Hows the machines doing? Has it improved or is it worse? They have slots here kind of like Vegas one's connected to a central Jackpot but they are hit and miss as to whether you win so I don;t play them. Anyway looks like I might be staying here, Just getting a new 2 year visa and then i'll apply to become a resident.

Hope you guys are all ok and wining lots.
All the best

Congrats on the 1-year mark and hope that the 2-year visa works out.

Bellfruit are still churning out Deal machines while Barcrest are making their own Deal versions. Not sure how much longer Barcrest will stick with Deal as they recently got bought out by Scientific Games (or Games Media). Red Gaming are still around and they seem to make 5-reel machines now but still as cat C. Not seen one personally yet though. Cat B3 stake now has a £2 option, same jackpot. Kings and Irish leps still seem to be the most popular themes. Most interestingly, JPM have made a comeback, re-released Red Alert and made a few new titles.

the pros are making record profits,
50% of machines are profitable..

casual players seem to be giving up so most playables are getting punted by people who have the info but not the discipline.

all in all.. same as usual but with higher stakes.

Very true, that.

Hope all is well James - I remember you saying you were leaving for NZ, hope it's turned out to be good for you.
This machine may at times offer a choice where the player has every chance of bankruptcy

Thanks guys, to be honest I was a gambler not a player used to play for mega streaks but decided I wanted out and was always on FOBTS and it was killing me lol. No FOBTS here just the pokies as they call them casino style machines. Try to stay away from them and on the whole life is good hear. WInter is short and no snow or harsh conditions like UK. Summers are long and the sunlight lasts for longer. Still rains heaps like UK but its good hear. Got job working in a callcentre which aint the greatest but it's permenant and is helping me get a visa. in about 2 years i'll probably be a resident. The only thing that concerns me is the debt i've left in UK (about 8k) but I can pay that off over time. Just waiting on a UK police check to secure my visa which should be fine as I have no criminal records just a crap credit rating but dont think that matters. All in all best decision I made to come here really. Only thing I miss is the footie. Die hard Liverpool fan and miss going games but there is more to life I guess I just didn't wanna carry on feeding the machines so I did someting about it.

All the best people anwyay

I'm happy for you mate. I went to aus for 6months, was one of the best things I've ever done and will most definately be heading back there in the near future. Stay away from those pokies though mate! Lol
