Bottle

Post by Master of Games »

How much bottle do you have? If you had 2 or 3 great hits in a pub but it was a bit of a "Fire pub" what would you do differently to what you would in your local where you feel much more comfortable?

I always try to look like a nutcase gambler - comment on horse racing if its on, tell them stories of the biggest bets I've won and lost, about casino punts, all that "I'm just a mad gambler!" stuff. Obviously you buy a drink or 2, maybe even three and if its worthwhile financially, a meal. Change up notes behind the bar as much as possible, act concerned that you're losing, drop eye contact and seem all fed up after 40 quid's change or so. Talk to locals if they try to watch - play like you're really sick of the machine and say its torturing you! Try to use reflections to look around rather than turn around all the time.

When it comes to changing up, act surprised and very relieved. Be very friendly to everyone you can, try to be one of the lads and just laugh at their crap jokes!

Anyone got any other tips? Any examples?

I go in with a black midget and if anyone tries to approach us I just say one word "D-I-S-C-R-I-M-I-N-A-T-I-O-N"!! Works everytime.
how about a greasy pork sandwich served in a dirty ashtray.

Most of what you said I do in most pubs, fire pubs or not. And the end of the day all that is doing is hopefully they think you are not a player. Most fire pubs you will get kicked out after 2-3 hits. The only way I think you can get away with it is to be a local.

whenever i go in i always make the effort to talk to staff, regulars etc, i even take the time to pop into pubs that havent got anything playable have a drink or 2 and a chat just to get my face recognised for when a playable does turn up, im even happy to chuck a few quid into a shitty dond just to make it look like im just general joe public, has worked for me lots of times, im fairly lucky that im confident in talking to people and making the effort with strangers, i would say my face is recognised now in a lot of pubs round my area, and always get a 'alright mate' in most fire pubs i go in now.

good idea that, I never used to have the time to do it, I'd always have at least 50 fruits on a run I'd do 2-3 times a week. Sometimes I'd have as many as a 100 written down but there'd always be some reason to change routes like a moved machine, 1 area being done, etc. It was never plain sailing! Oh, and not forgetting the odd bit of getting barred!

Getting banned from a pub with decent fruits that gets punted on the fruits bigtime for doing the quiz never helps! Had a nice pub with 2 gamesnets with C4 on it I did twice - what a ridiculous reason to get barred for!!!

Er... then next visit you get, this...

"Sorry mate, can't serve you! The locals have been complaining that the machine never pays them out, they know you know what your doing and what you come in for and they've said they'll stop drinking here if I let you keep winning all THEIR money so sorry mate - I'd love to let you carry on but they know now!"

Or something along those lines... CUNTS!

OR... machine gone next time!!!
