Jackpot or Not

Post by blindman »

read a few e-books and a couple say not to always go for the Jackpot nut build up the bank by collecting £2.40-3.00. Does this not mess up % and cost you more in the long run?

I've read some of these ebooks, and they are remarkable in many ways, not least for their sheer uselessness. Even when they do speak the truth, they talk so much bullshive that you can't take them seriously... for example, letting them spin after nudges... a common trick put in place by the manufacturers to let players think they have an edge over people "not in the know"... but how does one (or possibly all!) of these books explain this phenomenon??? Apparently, you're "confusing the CPU" into giving you the win.

Now why would it say this, when it's blatant lies. Perhaps the writer didn't have a clue why it was put in, or maybe it was to pad out what would be a painfully thin book if you removed all the dross. Or most likely, to make the player think he's getting one over on the machine, when in actual fact, the machine is so far ahead of the player, it's stopped for a pint and a read of the paper.

Every machine is different. On some, if you don't collect small wins, then you are more likely to win the jackpot, and possibly more afters. However, a lot of other machines aren't "progressive", and pay out their big prizes more or less randomly.

It all depends on how much you can afford to lose (and how much you want to win). And it depends on the machine. And it depends on how why you're gambling in the first place .. some people like playing just to see the hypnotic swirly lights of a jackpot, others are content with a small profit.

thank you for putting a bit of perspective to to it.... it all seemed too good to be true..

i guess its just a case of getting to know what a certain machine does and timing

The tip you mentioned is spot on for a machine called Cloud 999 - an ANCIENT barcrest machine. If you collected 2 jackpots - totalling about a tenner in tokens, it would stop the £30 streak. The next streak would then go for £60. If you did the same again, the next streak would be £90! This was VERY useful advice back in 1990!!!! I can't believe someone is selling this tripe!
you want the truth?? you cant handle the truth!

well, its crap now, but at one point in history most of the stuff was helpful,

the ebooks are just out dated info collected from the net, i think at one point the one doing the rounds was a splice of spooperarcdaia (will it let me type that if i spell it wrong? lol) and a copy and paste from the old boards, cma arcdia paysite and driftnet and even when it first came out people bought it although it was already out of date..

things get added, im assuming doshball etc lucky strike and everything else are added to it by now, im more or less responsible for the vivid trick being leeked to the ebay community (my claiim to fame which lost me so so so many friends)

stuff gets added to it and it gets relisted on the auctions as the 2006 edition...

pointless drivel, but hten it inspires hope, a buck for nothing and promises big returns.. all you need is a tardis, although this isnt mentioned in the item description.... hmmm

I'd have thought that Ebooks would do more harm than good, since people would be encouraged to try out things on machines that have long since been rechipped. Just The Ticket, anyone?

Did you get much for the Vivid trick Spyder?

i got £50 each for 6 of them then started them at a tenner,

made about £500 overall, not a lot, but it had dried up, id been doing them for about a year, had it for a good 6 months before it went public, then it was pissing me off so i did the ebay auctions, most of the new wave vivid pros threatened me with death! which is always fun, and the old "gang" from arcadiiia etc said it was too wreckless and drew too much attention, which it probably did actually, i kinda got deleted off everyones phone and email!

oh well!

just the ticket hasnt just been rechipped, they had to remove the entire mainboard and remake the machine, i think they are all graveyarded now. RIP!
