Re: names
No around the south west... I remember it being scratched on a brand new lab years ago, he must carry a knife to do it with. The worst one's I have seen have been on the m5 at strensham and m6 sandbach on the vamps, must have been at least a dozen names on them; 'Tony no1 player' etc.6502 wrote:Was this around the south east & midlands by any chance?Blackcurrantsoda wrote:The most prolific tag I have seen over the years is 'DR', who is this? does anyone know?
It's foolish and stupid. As 1st post says, the machine is more likely to go out of sevice next time its moved. Also, as names are always scratched on methodable machines (Cluedos / stoppers etc) it just alerts the leisure companies - who then may chip the damn thing!
Why bother? - If you are on to a good thing, why tell the world?
Whatever happened to keeping everything sweet and trying to stay below radar? - We all want to make money - but we don't want EVERYONE to know what we are doind surely?

I'm afraid keeping everything sweet and staying below the radar went out of the window when sites such as UKFMP and superarcadia first appeared, with people posting cryptic clues about methods and empties, thinking they were clever.mouse75 wrote: Whatever happened to keeping everything sweet and trying to stay below radar?
The final nail in the coffin is when idiots post their antics on you tube.

Never noticed any scratched/signed machines myself, but it makes sense to do it if you have a doable machine, it gets taken out and if it turns up again on your route you'll know it's good times. I suppose you could go a step further and scratch coded box marker reminders on the DONDs for future reference.
